I've recently discovered that Darkfall is quite Expensive for a MMO which is unfortunate for me,
42.00 Euros = 36.60 British pounds, Now, £36 for a mmo is really exspensive, i could go out and buy the latest ps3 game for cheaper,
do they only do the download version and no cd? do they not sell boxed versions?
but enough of that, im actually quite impressed at the way this looks and i want to try this game, i just want the opinion of other Uk subscribers if they regret paying this much for the game, or still play it to this day,
This wouldnt normally be a problem for anyone else but, when it comes to money im "Tighter than a dogs Ars*"
So can someone please give me reason to buy this game please
But on the otherhand £61 for the game and 6 months is a good deal, but what if i play it and cant get into it ?

I think it is worth rolling the dice and doing the 6 month deal. I have yet to read from someone that they didn't like this game. I'm new to it and a lot of others are coming in every day. This is a completely unique and fantastic experience. I'm not a fan boi, the game isn't perfect, but the devs are doing an amazing job of making this game better every day.
I would recommend going to the Darkfall forums or finding my post that is addressed to new players and watch Valroth's videos. They are amazing at showing you what the game is like and what you can accomplish in 8 hrs if things are done right.
There's pages and pages of threads that answer that very question. But if price is the issue, perhaps a PS3 game would be a better option for you. I myself signed up for six months and I'm glad I did but only you can answer if that's right for you or not.

lol really?.....

I Agree with you, but i have been in similar situations before for example, Tabula Rasa, Aion, Champions online, Warhammer online, i've bought all of these before and never actually laster the first 30 days free with any of them.
I just dont want to get Burned agian, but then again i'll never know if i dont give it ago,
I think all i need is a friendly / newplayer Clan to show me the ropes if i were to start, i love full loot, but i get extremely cheesed off when im ganked, exspecially by a Vet,

"Why this game is so expansive?"
Because it is worth it..............
The price of a video game should never be something you need to debate. If your economic situation is this horrible, you should really consider a new hobby.
lol really?.....
The only people who I've heard complaints from are the people who get ganked and cry about it instead of gathering up friends. I am refering to recently and the reviews that are new and fresh. Sorry that I exaggerated my point, I just think there is not much to lose in doing the 6 month deal. In the grand scheme of things if you are thinking about it, the 61 pounds won't change your life.
Worth the $50 and more...I wish I had got the 6month deal now.
"I play Tera for the gameplay"

I don't know what to tell you other than I played WAR and quit too, it's a theme park. Darkfall is nothing like those games, it's a sandbox.

The only problem now is finding a friendly EU clan :O (and a small matter of installing / patching)

Its a great game, and they just released a new patch dealing with the very anoyyingly fast and expert dodging mobs in PvE, added new spell effects and environment tweaks, so they look better. And this is just the start of darkfall 2010
Join NEW, it is a newby guild which will introduce you to DF.
After 1 month you are on your own but at least you ll learn how to play.
I say buy it. Many of us on this forum took this risk of buying the game and not liking it. So far, most of us like/love the game but there were a few who didn't like it.
Beside, it might sound expansive but when you look at other games like WoW, you have to buy the client and the expansions...in the end it costs a lot more than DarkFall which offers Free Expansions.
Though before you buy, would be great if you mentionned some of your mmorpg experience. Perhaps DarkFall would be a good fit....or complete hell for you :þ
Awesome i can test out my crossfire 4890 hd
i heared they are bringing out new models / animations aswell?

Yes and 2010 should see Direct X-11
Yep, they already have a female human model in progress to show you here http://www.darkfallonline.com/images/new_human_female.jpg

Its not expensive..if the game is good and you like it...
Expensive was AOC, CO, STO etc..any money spent in those its wasted money ..for me..

With that list and those loved it I would say DFO is a safe bet for you.
Hehe, M&B combat is better. You must admit this.
That's why this game gets such a negative press from people who fell for responses like this but did not like the game.
"Because the game rulez!"
" Because its worth it"
"Everyone loves the game"
Are you guys AVs marketing department or are you just brain dead? Can you at least try to form an intelligent and meaningfull sentence?
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

Good luck! Hope the game will be worth your money.

Not sure if this is a little late or not, but I am a UK gamer (Currently residing in Staffordshire, but am a Sheffield lad through and through).
I got Darkfall last year and really enjoyed it, met new guys who were local, had a really great community from what I saw and a huge world to explore.
I did leave, however it wasn't due to the game.
I could only really afford to play one game, and the 2-3 friends I tried Darkfall with didn't like it so much because they were used to Themepark-style games, and didn't get along with a game that let you do more alone.
So I ended up leaving with the flock and gave away my account.
Big Mistake..
I am now in a position where I have free time and really want to play again. I'm also seeing about making the decision between the 1 month account or the 6 months.
We'll see anyhow. But for now, I can tell you the game is fun. Don't expect road signs at every corner telling you where to go, where's safe etc.. but if you like exploring and a little risk, it's worth the money.
