i think not ...this mmo gets tough....and I mean tough....If you havent played beyond lvl 15 your missing some nice strategy gaming....its not a one click go to the bathroom come back and your an admiral game. The NPCs get some nasty dirty tricks to counter your stuff. They root, disable, bombard, etc. It can be pretty intense.

I'm coming to realise more and more than MANY of the critics on these forums haven't in fact played the game at all... much less played it long enough to get into missions against the Romulans. The number people complaining about how they removed custom races from the game in order to sell extra races in the C-store pretty well confirms this.
These forums have degenerated so far, it's pointless to even bother really.

Actually ive found this sites reviews and forums very informative when it comes to choosing a game to play/try out.
As for difficulty...i agree, there are some tricky battles later in the game. but i think my main issue is that it's too easy to get to the difficult stage of the game.....a bit more of a difficulty curve earlier on would fix that though.

Generally, though there is ALWAYS plenty of overzealous fandom and irrational hatred for any title... I agree with you. For STO , however we, as a community have truely gone Full Retard. So at this point... despite a "Notice of Increased Moderation" which apparantly only applies to me and my "Where's Sulu" thread (though, in all fairness the warning was recended) these forums have deteriorated beyond the point where sence can be made of them.
As to your point on difficulty...
What level-based MMORPG would you consider to have challengin levels 1-15? Personally I'd have to say original EQ would be the hardest but even then... hell WoW doesn't get challenging until Max level.

that's because the game didn't turn out like people wanted and they are just writing dumb stuff till the time on there pre orders run out.
mainly because there bored .
after awhile
then the fan boys are gonna start realizing the game isn't all that great and eventually only the die hards are gonna be left ,you know the ones that write page long diaries of how they love the game and want it to get better because it has potential or some nonsense.
it's a viscious cycle but thats how it goes with mmorpg's
