Interesting read, I look forward to playing. It would be wise to keep an open mind about the game, as more opinions and reviews are released.

"For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast,
And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed:
And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill,
And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!"

I really like a lot about this game and look forward to trying it out, but I must admit I'm not too excited about forced grouping. I don't understand why there can't be a mix for when you don't have a lot of time or your friends aren't online.

I also played Lineage 2 from beta and when I left I remember max level was 70. I never made top level, quitting shortly after I hit 67, but I do remember it was a forced grouping game as well as one hell of a grind and after going through it once I'm unsure if I'd ever want to do it again. More so the grind than the forced grouping. Either way I'll be checking into TERA and I'm excited to give it a try.

I read somewhere that the 'forced grouping' was only put in after level 10 for test purposes. There is no way TERA will be group focused.

Ok, we all like a group quest now and then, but i'm sure a good majority would rather solo most parts of it.

I played it, and quite enjoyed it :)

As someone who played FFXI for several years, forced grouping is something I'm used to. I'm also very interested in seeing more from this game. Can anyone tell me what the character customization is like? Can I at least do my character's makeup? I really get frustrated that most MMORPGs don't allow that degree of customization..

You do realize that the devs for this game got sued and lost to NCsoft for pirating the Lineage III code right?

WASD keys 1,2,3,4,5 too cumbersome,i like to play relaxed and i hate WASD,too easy to fumble and hit wrong keys.If there is no key mapping, then no way i would play it.The RANGE system also sounds ridiculous, how on earth are you going to maintain a perfect range, especially with lag?It will end up being EXACTLY like the ranger in FFXI,everyone using the cheat app Windower to tell them their exact range.

If this sounds like what it is,then i am not impressed, they are going to take some nice ideas but make it a cumbersome game to play.I could handle constantly hitting CTRL+a number or ALT+a number in FFXI,because it was an auto lock system,in TERA it will not work well at all.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

You do realize, that it were only 7 people, who got sued by NCSoft, becuase they showed the Lineage III code to a japanese company some 3 years back, way before Bluehole Studios were created, right?

Yes these 7 people are now working as devs for Bluehole Studios, but this is a totally different story.

It works perfectly this way in Darkfall, where you also have WASD-movement + mouseaim + range + skills.

It basically works like this: move -> check range -> stop -> shoot -> move -> check range -> stop -> shoot ->>>>

For meelees it's easier, yes, as they don't need toreposition them for perfect ranges all the time, but therefore they have to deal with being hit themselves.

The people who tested the game and gave us some reports didn't find it too complicated with this system aswell, so it's basically just personal preference.
