Veteran's Backpack

Rayx0rRayx0r Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 2,902

quite some time ago, I resubbed to AO and not knowing any better, decided I would cancel and probably never play the game again

in doing so, I decided to dump all of my stuff to my corp leader.. including my veteran backpack.

well, lately Ive been wanting to check the game out again but im still really discouraged that I gave all my junk away..especially the veteran backpack.  I played a small atrox enforcer and I tweaked the backpack to make me smaller.

I just did a quick google on the item and came to a page explaining purchasable veteran rewards.  One of which, the veteran backpack.

My question, is this the same veteran backpack we were given when the game first came out that you could use a screwdriver (i think it was) on and make yourself slighty bigger and smaller?  It also had a light blue text above your head when you zoned saying "Pwned" or something like that.

so would I be able to return and eventually purchase this item again?

The item you gave to your corp leader was probably a pioneer backpack, which is different from a veteran backpack.

The pioneer backpack is UNIQUE, but not NODROP. This means that it can be traded and sold, but not through gms (the market system). Because of it's rarity by now (8 year old item and no new ones are being created), it would probably cost you an arm and a leg to buy one.

ya, thanks.  I just asked the same question on the ao forums and was told the same thing.

I did learn something from it though after I did it years ago.  Never give your stuff away if you think you're going to quit in any mmo.

Imo there's 1 good reason to give away your stuff and that is if you want to burn bridges to prevent yourself from coming back.

Sometimes we just have to quit playing mmos for a while even when we would rather keep on playing :)
