I've been playing WoW on and off since a few months after vanilla launched and have only recently unsubbed (couple months back) because I couldn't find anything else I wanted to do. The guild I was in consisted of a few of my closest RL friends and several other like-minded folks we'd picked up along the way and I think that social atmosphere is what I really miss, but that isn't very much motivation to continue playing a game.
The problem is (and this might be a MMO thing, not just a WoW thing) I'm tired to death of the level 80 game. I'm tired of raiding (10&25 man), tired of farming emblems in the same 5-mans I've farmed for emblems before, tired of losing consistently in BGs because our battlegroup sucks, and I've never enjoyed arenas. My character tab is full of alts I've already leveled to cap- even my banker is 80.
I'm currently trying out Fallen Earth's free trial because I wanted something different but without my friends it just isn't very fun. Off the top of my head the only things I can think of in WoW that I really enjoyed are playing the AH, leveling, and chatting with friends. Is there anything else I can do in WoW besides farm tradeskill mats?

While this requires raiding, why not go after Arthas?
Been raiding since early BC and I'm just burned out on it entirely. While I like seeing the lore and how things pan out, I'm just not interested in raiding anymore. It always feels the same and bosses don't feel like anything that special. When I first started and even the first few times in Kara it was kind of exciting going after a new boss but now everytime it's just "oh, this guy again."
Wait for Cata and explore all the (hopefully) new and differrent parts of Azeroth
or get a new game. Try LotRO
LOL, thanks- that is exactly what I figured I'd wind up doing. Gonna finish up my Fallen earth trial first, then off to LOTRO trial & whatever else seems fun.
For me i'm leveling up to take 1 last look at the current world before it changes forever. And i'm really taking my time with it. Forget about gears, just explore the world for what it is and have fun, and there's many like me out there...
