Sync issue.

MysilMysil Member Posts: 11

I have been testing since block B, and while I do understand the complaints and reviews of MO, I do see so much potential in this game. However I do feel the Sync issue that has always been there, now is no longer just a little thing that can be over looked. With the new content of Day/Night, the sync issue has been compounded and needs to be the number one issue. This needs to be resolved like yesterday. Currently you have some people running around blind, while others are abusing the sync issues and are in total daylight ganking and griefing people. I know this will most likely get me flamed as a care bear...blah blah. I enjoy pvp and hardcore just as much as the next guy, or why would I have purchased the game. This is an enormous issue and for the player base to have any faith in this project, this needs to be fixed now. This is just as bad as using hacks or radars.

Most people would agree with you.

The problem is quite clearly though, that they have no idea how to fix it. But that's what you get when you hire unreal modders instead of programmers and network folks to design and build an MMO.

These problems will continue as time goes by, and when they seem "fixed" for people, my guess is that the server population will be so low that it seems fixed.

And the sync issues are only the tip of the iceberg -- still have memory leaks, client crashes, and a basically unfinished game.

Mysil wait for people to respond with "ITS STILL IN BETA"  All of the closed beta testers know that the problem has been there from day 1.  Back then they blamed it on server debugging, but 7 months later its still there.  I don't think they know how to fix it.

    Heya Mysil!

This bug has been adressed and will be fixed in the next patch, it was said in the forums. The patch will most likely come with the same time as newsletter, so hopefully tomorrow or early next week.

You can burn me, but i wont die.

They said it would be fixed in the last content patch, they said it would be fixed in the patch before that one, and the one before that one, and the one before that one... so on...

    Lets see what happens though

I'm not 100% sure the sync issue between night and day was the same as the Sync issue that has been there for some people throughout BETA...

But the night/day sync issue was reported to be fixed in this next patch... whenever that is.

Even if it is patched, the key issue with night is that it's just too dark in some cases... the developer in charge of that system stated he was addressing that and would have it looking better ASAP.

Ridiculous Hercules, your opinion seems to be like a stone, it doesn't matter what people do you just seem to bash the game over and over again. If it doesn't satisfy you, why can't you just leave then? I just don't get it.

You are insulting them to be unprofessional unreal modders, then you are bashing the game and ALSO lying. You say "These problems will continue as time goes by" really dude, you have no idea what you are up to, these issues have been adressed and under fixing all the time, if you just could open your mind and use search a bit, follow twitter and make yourself clear what is going out, maybe then you would not tell lies! I don't know did you do that by purpose, but I would assume that you did. Stop it, you do this for entertainment as you said yourself, you bash a game what other people want to enjoy and try to get their player base lower, and you do that just for entertainment.

Don't you understand that you are more likely fishing away ALL the new people from these forums, because of such strong opinions without any proper statements of anything! I mostly ignore your posts because _everybody_ knows your opinion already. But this time when you actually lie, it's worth mentioning about! You could even be more polite in regards of others opinions.

Also If you haven't noticed memory leaks are almost completely removed and client crashes have been fixable from the start, the massive amount of new players just don't know how as the guide is stickied in the open beta section which not everyone follows, they do not understand that  when they start the game, the MLOD all texture qualitys are on the toppest notch which will crash a regular computer.

First, they are unreal modders as their development team. Of their ENTIRE team, not one member has shipped an actual software title yet. At all. That is the VERY DEFINITION of lacking experience. Their unprofessionalism is apparent in the way they handle things -- insulting users, yelling in forums, praising fanboys in IRC, and of course their atrocious development cycle which they make fun of the "WOW" method of software development. You know.. the RIGHT way.

As for the problems continuing as time goes by -- it's an educated guess on my part. Over time they have added more features but had an extremely hard time fixing existing ones. I remember Henrik talking about "We are working with Epic Games to get this resolved" -- basically, they are calling TECHNICAL SUPPORT because they don't know how to fix it on their own. Following twitter doesn't do me any good -- all it does is give rare status updates on the server up/down and some other small tidbits of info. Memory leaks STILL exist. Crashes are not ALL fixable -- and more to the point, they shouldn't have to be fixed by the USER. Textures have nothing to do with it because high textures only stress out graphics cards, at the most you'll get lag as each texture loads. Besides, some people (myself included) have very high end PCs and I can run Crysis 2 without a hitch, so MO shouldn't be an issue. And if it is an issue that MO is more detailed than Crysis, it just goes again to their lack of experience because you don't design a game to run on a level people can't handle.

As for politeness -- please don't make me laugh. You're the same guy who went around making personal insults on the MO forums about me, and you're coming back here asking me to be nice to a community you barely visit? Please give me a break.

I hope your right about the bug being addressed. This is a huge problem to me, as in I dont mind the occasional crashes, reboots ect. However the sync issue is really horriable and its making the game very unbalanced.

Hercules, really, that is laughable how you do that.

The website and forums are also taken down by blizzard when they do maintenance and usually it consist only account management changes. It ain't a surprise if they take down everything, and did you even know that the forum accounts are linked to the game accounts?

Blizzard does not take down their main website in order to update their account management site. That's absolutely ridiculous and absurd.

As for the "forum link" it's not a LIVE forum link to account link. It's a ONE SHOT DEAL -- you do the account setup link, and it adds you to a member group for beta testers. That's how they 'linked it'. How do I know? Because I know who wrote the CODE FOR IT. And again sadly, it was not SV yet again. Ask DrHat for the details on that one -- he knows it too.

You keep making up excuses for every blunder SV has made, and continues to make. I just don't know why you have the motivation but I'll leave that up to you.

Also, I do not care tbh about is the link live or not and I do not care who wrote the code, I also know that it was made by Dr because it was asked by the community -a lot-.

I honestly couldn't care less about the forums or anything being down at the moment, as I was answering to the new guy who made his own topic to talk about something in specific, and instantly, without caring at all you come here and trash talk with me about *Why is forums down* I will never ever forget how much rubbish and lies you have put out.

He came in here asking about the sync issuee.  I told him they have been in the beta since day 1 and that SV has saild multiple times in the past that they were fixing it in the "next patch" but its still there.

As for Hercules, some of his points are valid also, so I don't understand how people are trash talking.

If you believe that's true -- have at it. I won't argue the point because it's absurd. It's like trying to argue that 2+2=5.

As for your 'care' about the forums being down or whatever else -- if you don't care about the status of the game, or the company, or whatever, then I fail to see why you keep supporting them despite all evidence to the contrary.

And if you think I'm a big fat liar well -- go ahead. I have opinions on certain things, I have facts on others, and I have speculation. They are generally stated as such. Your points are always stated as facts as if you 'know' that XYZ is getting fixed, or whatever. And if you 'never forget' how much rubbish I talk, you're really going to hate me when this game dies and all your hopes along with it.

Mortal Onlines account system has worked really well at all times, if they take it down for few hours does it instantly mean the company has screwed up? I bet not. Honestly you couldn't even say that if you were supporter of DFO at start as their account management had HUGE issues at all times expect now.

And yes, I do think that.

I didn't say that the company screwed up, in fact with the state it's in, going up and down... I'd contribute it to some sort of attack, actually. And I wasn't a supporter of DFO, I just realized that even though DFO sucked bigtime, MO is even worse. That's the kind of pathetic thing.
