Where to start so much news about Square lately with the release of their FFXIII.

I will start by saying it seems to me that Square is now becoming noticed throughout the world,it is no longer SOE and Blizzard running the show.Everyone is picking apart Square for anything and everything, while missing he point that they deliver over all quality.IDK maybe people were spoiled that FFX was sort of linear but still had some open ended play to it,once you got the airship.Square has been ripped for making their game LINEAR,well it is a single player game lol,any out there that are not linear? lol.

Now comes the interesting part,Square is being ripped for not delivering their Xbox 360 version with the same standards as the PS3 version. This is very important because with FFXIV coming out, many have asked for a Xbox 360 version, this could all lead us to why FFXIV is coming along slow.I am providing a link that talks in a fair bit of detail about Square's new engine and porting and copyright and limitations.

Square Enix Crystal Tools 360 vs PS3.

I just want to point a few things that relate to many posts we have seen on MMORPG.

First of all people have seen MANY posts relating to ,F2P games and a P2P game. This console effort of FFXIII has 32 GB's of cinematic material alone, the average F2P game is .8>1.8 gb in total lmao.Watch the video link and you will see although there is some differences in the two ports, both still look very good .Something even better to watch for is a scene where you will see SEVERAL moving parts, most F2P or heck many P2P games don't have that many movi9ng parts in their entire game lol.

The point is there is obviously a few problems with FFXIV related to these same issues, copyright is one,i believe they said the copyright protection alone left only 7 gb of game space left for the 3 xbox discs.FFXIV wants a worldwide release ,so they probably need to get the xbox version in full order before actually releasing the game.

There is yet another problem if you paid attention to the article, and that is frame rates. We all know the PS3 is a decently powered machine and yet they are struggling to maintain 30 fps with 720 p graphics. So imagine they are having some issues to make sure many will be able to play FFXIV on their PC's and even then,a single player game does not have near the total bandwidth a MMO has,so you can see the issues they are having. It all sheds a bit of light to what goes on behind the closed doors of game development and how easily the efforts can be critiqued by experts and so called experts.

Bottom line is you are going to need one hell of a good system to run FFXIV when it comes out.

edited for my incredibly bad typing skills, they are the equivalent of F2P typing skills :D.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

People are complaining because FFXIII plays like its on rails.

Unlike Bioware games that are also linear atleast they give you other stuff to do.

I would go as far as saying FFXIII is a adventure game like zelda more than a real rpg.

I think the main reason why Square games are so popular is due to the unique battle systems they incorporate into their games for example Final Fantasy XIII is so unique to over titles at the minute.

Unique? havent tried the crazy amount of Jrpg's on the 360 lately?

    Its all the same.

If anything FF is know for telling a wonderfully engaging story, the combat has always been something that people just tolerate.
