Area Gear and BG gear?

Been a very long time since I played WoW, a few years now.

Question is am I able to get good gear through doing battlegrounds, not a big fan of arean PVP and not really bothered about doing raids all the time to get gear?

 Yes. Since patch 3.3.2 you get 25 arena points by winning the daily BG.

Since patch 3.3.3 this daily quest is replaced by doing the random BG and winning it per day.

You only get the points by winning it, so you often will need to really try to win which gives some excellent tension and motivation.

The cheapest arena item at the moment is the gloves which sell at 440 arena points. (relentless - which is the second best PvP set).
