I didnt read this pile of crap. I only read the title, and it made me sad.

There is no such thing a as good F2P game, I've tried out plenty of these so called games and have come to one conclusion, they only exist to milk out as much cash as possible from the industry. They're poorly made with extremly bad graphics, buggs, no feeling(history, lore), always the same kill 10 of these quests(at best) and gather that(if the games have such a thing as quests) and ofc the mandatory killing of 1 million mobs to raise one lvl . Even ex subscription games like DDO online is totaly crap, compared to "real" mmo's.

But ofc the crew at mmorpg.com supports these so called games as much as they can, since its F2P games that do most of the advertising on this page. It's just sad to see that the bought ppl at mmorpg.com talk good about games that really is nothing to have at all.

F2P is a cheap way to fool stupid players, since the only way to get somewhere in the game is to buy credits, new +1000 weapons and other stuff to improve your char. It's easy to call F2P game makers for scoundrels and total frauds.

Dont play them and dont pay them, the only reason they exist is to get their hand on your cash. No other reason.

Well I go back and play CoDMW and WoW now, you know, real games?! Not some wannabe ragnarok noobish made game with the label "made in china" and "Free for Ever"(=LoL).

    Cheers

Great, another worthless post from someone who can't even be bothered to expound on the reasons WHY s/he hates F2P. More "opinion as fact" garbage from the rage-o-holic crowd.

    Go away.

DDO is getting a lot of hate in this thread. It's my favorite mmo of all time.

I like aspects of other games, but DDO is the only game where I feel like the entire character can be custom made, and the combat isn't always a button sequence, and there are many things to be wary of when walking through a dungeon.

IMO, there should be more games like DDO.

I'm just waiting for a F2P overhyped sandbox WoW clone with full PVP, epic raid bosses, instanced group content, and Crysis-quality graphics to come out. That, or something fun.

This is such a cliched list.

    1. D&D - You got this completely correct.  I was one of the few that stuck around when it was P2P, and I still play it when I get bored of grinding in other games.  By far the best (except for number 2 on my list).

    2. I totally disagree, Allods isn't very fun for me.  Atlantica Online is alot better (pretty much a tie for first really).  I have every single mercenary at level 120 and I've only spent a total ~$50 on the item mall (mainly for mounts)

    3. Runes of Magic is correct here.  It's like 2 of the best P2P games mashed together, WoW and FFXI.  My only problem with this game is higher levels are very grindy.

    4. WonderKing is Maplestory, without all the grinding I hated.  After about level 70 it does have some grind to it, but it's no where near as bad as Maplestory.  I'm sorry, but I hate Freerealms...I even have ADD lol.

    5.  Anarchy Online is a good game and all, but without access to everything I don't really consider it F2P.  It's more like a Unlimited Trial. I liked Perfect World much more. I stopped playing it after I was banned for fighting, but it was probably the best game I was playing at the time.  It would be higher up on the list, but like I said, I'm banned lol.

Some other great F2P games I like are Cabal, Requiem : Bloodmare (very gruesome), and I hate to say it, but Wizard 101 (the kid in me never grows up!)

THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Do you realize how much time you just saved me?  I jump in and out of MMO's ever so many months and decided to jump back in.  I checked out the game list and it was staggering.  I didn't want a P2P game, so I was looking for a high quality F2P game to play.

Allods and Runes of Magic are great.  I'm actually having a hard time deciding which one I want to stick with!

I started with Allods and really liked the similiarity to WoW.  Then I tried Runes of Magic and liked that even more.

I usually with go through the game list, do a custom search by game rating (which I feel isn't accurate in the sense of what I think it's supposed to represent), then filter out p2p games, sort by rating, and then go to each games sub page looking and screenshots from which you can only glean so much.  You really have to sit down and play a game to get the "feel" of it, that level of polish and so on.  So far, in RoM, it's like they thought of everything I hated about other games and added either a game option to modify it, or just added new features entirely.  I love the minimap, just wish it zoomed out even more.  I'm still tweaking the UI.

I'm already in a helpful guild too!

    Thanks again "Mr." Bill!

I guess I could always play both games if I get bored with one and switch back and forth ;)

After reading this list, I decided to give Allods a try. What a huge mistake. I will say the game is lovely. Good graphics and no lag at all (for me).  The professions are a joke. You can only learn one, so tailoring and gathering cloth should go hand in hand, but no. You have to buy from the AH and in game coin is hard to come by.

I made a warden and it seems that is the one class that no one wants in any dungeon. Glad I made that choice. I have always played a druid, since they are very versatile, but not in allods. bank space is a huge joke, ditto the bag space unless you purchase from the item mall and even then, it's hardly any at all.

Experience is poor. The amount of xp to level is very high.

All in all, a terrible waste of time.

Gipat patch: Got to love the devs at  allods. The game is pretty dead since the patch.  Mounts were introduced but not only do you have to purchase from Item shoppe, you also have to purchase food from there.  Mobs are harder to kill unless you use your patron blessing (uses incense), another item from the item mall. Without the incense, you are worthless. I can't believe you guys support this game in any way, shape or form.

Do not waste your time downloading this cash sucking game.
