My description of WoW is factually accurate. Who is responsible for those features in WoW? The people who want a challenge or the people who want easy mode?
I for one think WoW accessibility is a blessing, while the game's overall simplicity is a curse. Nothing wrong with getting PUGs faster, because PUGs themselves will always pair you with idiots, at least you can get to the stupidity faster. The one thing that astonishes me though, is that even games like AoC has group dungeons and boss battles that blow WoW's out of the water (in my experience). Tank and spank is *dead*, games are now adopting scripted events mid-battle like they do in single-player games - and it's awesome. I'm sure WoW is doing this with newer content now that I think about it, but I don't care. I've been over it for quite some time.

Yeah, like 5 minutes per day.. That is how long casuals want to play MMORPGs. Because anything more than that is for those hardcore players who don't have a life.
It's funny how WoWs audience is basically the people who only log in a few minutes then log off. Oh, I got to raise my fishing skill by 3 points today.
Since their game is designed like that, they design it as a series of mini games. Log in, do a 20-30 minute instance, log out. Log in, do a 20-30 minute raid, log out. Go to cheap WoW zone with boss sitting at entrance, log out. Go do a Battleground, log out.
What part of their game actually involves getting into it? Everything about WoW is casual. They want easy mode content, bosses sitting at entrances, bosses that die once they see the casuals in the zone, etc.
You're simply trolling. You have no idea what casuals want.
My description of WoW is factually accurate. Who is responsible for those features in WoW? The people who want a challenge or the people who want easy mode?
20 minute raids? .. casuals who only ever log on for 5 minutes a day? .. bosses that commit suicide to give free loot to casuals? .. no. You and the word "factual" are not even vaguely acquainted.

Some of WoW raids are less than 20 minutes. What is that boss that just sits in a zone by himself at the entrance? That is less than 5-10 minutes.. lol
And those same bosses I refer to, you basically need to turn on auto attack and mash heals to beat them anymore, even the 25 man version. If that isn't free loot I don't know what is. Simpler than solo PVE content.
Casuals just picked MMO's because they wanted a chat room.
Once they got to MMOS, they begged the company to dumb down the game for them, to make easy mode content, to give out free gear, to put in content that takes no time, to put in bosses that take no skill.
They should go play mIRC. That is a nice chat program too.
No point in playing an MMORPG that isn't an MMORPG. They're gonna want characters that start out at 80, and the best gear to start on their character, etc. They don't want to put in any time to get what usually does take time. They don't want to put in any effort for things that require effort.
Any game for casuals ends up being a dumbed down game with a bunch of handouts. Gear, character, etc. are all worthless in those type of games, because they want to hand out everything to everyone.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is the most blatant use of strawman logic. Are you really that insecure and ignorant to assume that because most people don't want to invest half of their day, you know...because they have lives which I'm sure if foreign to you, they automatically want everything handed to them. Are you really that dense and immature? There is a thing called a middle ground. You can have an MMO that allows for casual players to feel like they accomplish something within a short period of time while at the same time providing content that is fairly difficult because it requires a substantial gear grind and group or raid coordination that pleases the hardcore crowd. Casual gamers don't want things handed to them like you idiotically are claiming, they just don't want to have to be forced to choose between working a full-time job or playing a game full-time.
If they don't want things handed to them, why are they getting things handed to them again?
Are you really this dense? How exactly are they getting things handed to them? You act like players log in the game for the first time and they're given a level 80 character with top tier arena or raid gear. Why are you so insecure and afraid of players who have healthy social and professional lives playing MMOs? I mean, you still have to reach level 80, which requires hundreds of hours, and then you need to get that top tier gear which also requires hundreds of hours of grinding dungeons, heroics, raids, arena matches, etc. So, explain to me how things are being handed to players when there's obviously a huge time investment involved already?
I seriously don't think you'll be happy unless your MMO comes with a bed pan.

Anyone calling this man a troll is needs to figure out what a troll is. His points are all valid and I for one agree with them. UO wasn't dumbed down in the beginning, people made things to do in it. Now it is dumbed down, thanks to people whining about how hard it was. SWG wasn't dumbed down in the beginning, now look at it. WoW wasn't even this dumbed down in the beginning, now look at it. Do I need to go on with example after example? Aion, LoTRO, etc... etc..... etc......
The poster is right, they are now nothing more than graphical chatroom with gameplay tossed in on the side.

Huge time investment? Lol. I don't think it takes 100 hours. And getting that kind of gear just means finding the right zone, which, with portals/maps all over the game, isn't that difficult. No challenge anymore, because of "casuals", or players who can't invest any time or are bad at the game.

It's hard to ignore something that is common knowledge about WoW.
Go inspect 50 people who are level 80, the same class. You'll see the same gear. Why is that? Handouts because the zones that drop that loot is easy mode. And it's funny because it's the endgame gear that everyone wears, it's the best in the game, and everyone has it.
It wouldn't matter to me if I had the best gear in WoW because everyone already has the best gear in WoW.
Back when I played, those casuals were stuck trying to figure out Molten Core while my guild was clearing AQ and Naxx. Back when WoW had a challenge, and when people were unique. The bad players were stuck in bad zones while the good players were 2-3 zones ahead of them.
Why do casuals and bad players want to be in the same zone as the good players? They just can't accept the fact that they aren't as good as the real players who can tough through real zones like BWL and AQ.

I have and that isn't the case. Hell, you can go on the WoW Armory right now and you'll find a great number of 80s have gear that falls way below top-tier.
You know, it's pretty hard to take you seriously and not consider you an immature troll when you're just spewing blatant misinformation. According to you, all level 80s are decked out in top-tier raid gear because apparently all the top gear falls like candy from the sky, many raids take less time than it does for a most people to take a dump, and you can complete all quests in Northrend in a weekend because, as you say, it only takes 1-2 hours to complete a zone. Any level 80 who invests 0-30 minutes a day can get the best gear in the game.
Any level 80 who invests 0-30 minutes a day can get the best gear in the game. This is just not true. Unless you're talking about arena gear, and even then it'll be a little hard.
Pre expansion WoW required some more time.
New WoW is all dumbed down for the casuals show us your hard mode achievements, then we can talk about this one. Oh, and do them without cheating, i.e. without downing bosses with the help of online guides.
If you stand VERY still, and close your eyes, after a minute you can actually FEEL the universe revolving around PvP.

Old school bosses, it didn't matter if you had the strategy or not.
New ones, that's all you need.
I don't play WoW anymore. My world first guild all sold their chars once that first expansion came out. Chars went for 2-4k to those "casuals".
Pre expansion WoW required more skill. Only the bad players complain about the time. It's not like the bad players weren't attempting Molten Core and failing all the time. Just couldn't handle those Molten Core trash mobs.
And when I returned to check out how the game has changed, I found that I could do their endgame zone 25 mans with PUGs filled with newbies who didn't know what they were doing half of the time. Half the raid could die on every encounter and we'd still be fine.

So let me get this straight, you haven't even played Lich King yet you make all these claims about the difficulty of the content, the time required to gear up, etc. Yeah, you're totally not some insecure and immature troll. It's bad enough that you're patting yourself on the back because you missed out on life in order to spend all day raiding in classic WoW as if it's some sort of accomplishment in any real sense, but you're following a game with seething hatred you don't even play anymore. Dude, turn off your PC and interact with people outside the computer screen. That may be your most challenging quest.

I know people that absolutely sucked at the game that had T3 back in the day, so that argument holds no water with me. WoW was never difficult, there was just more time between wanting to have fun and actually having it.

I know people that absolutely sucked at the game that had T3 back in the day, so that argument holds no water with me. WoW was never difficult, there was just more time between wanting to have fun and actually having it.
Sure you did. They couldn't have sucked more than the guild that did world first lich king.
Any level 80 who invests 0-30 minutes a day can get the best gear in the game.
Pre expansion WoW required some effort
New WoW is all dumbed down for the casuals
What an idiot.
That's like saying that anyone could have the best sport car if by 'best sports car' they mean a Honda Civic.
The best gear in WoW is obtained right now in Heroic 25man ICC (which only one guild finished so far). The gear that a level 80 can obtain by 'investing 0-30 minutes a day' is 3-4 gear ranks behind and will take about 6-8 months to obtain if you do not raid.

So let me get this straight, you haven't even played Lich King yet [...]

Yet when a poster challenged him to post his achievements, he immediately acknowledged he didn't play WoW anymore. Don't be gullible.

They only added achievments after they started dumbing their game down.
More non-rewards for players who are better than others, useless achievments.
Know what an achievment should be? Doing a difficult zone. Unfortunately in WoW, there are none anymore. So they distinguish bad players vs good ones by "Clear the zone in x minutes, clear each boss without dying, etc." All you get is a useless achievment. Give the newbs the same gear.
My description of WoW is factually accurate. Who is responsible for those features in WoW? The people who want a challenge or the people who want easy mode?
That would be the game developers. Last time I checked, the players, be they casual or hardcore, did not code the games.

They added achievements pre-Lich King, so if you're as experienced as you say you are, let's see it. Nobody believes your pretend guild did a world first anything unless that world first involves pooping in the most amount of socks in a day.

Lol, someone who cares about achievments.
Getting a reward for doing something vs getting some "You have gained achievment x" is different.
It's too bad the WoW kids can't realize when they are shafting the good players so they can distribute the same loot to bad players.

20 minute raids? .. casuals who only ever log on for 5 minutes a day? .. bosses that commit suicide to give free loot to casuals? .. no. You and the word "factual" are not even vaguely acquainted.
Playing: EVE, Final Fantasy 13, Uncharted 2, Need for Speed: Shift
Some of WoW raids are less than 20 minutes. What is that boss that just sits in a zone by himself at the entrance? That is less than 5-10 minutes.. lol
And those same bosses I refer to, you basically need to turn on auto attack and mash heals to beat them anymore, even the 25 man version. If that isn't free loot I don't know what is. Simpler than solo PVE content.
The fact that you can't even name these raids or bosses speaks to your inability to tell the truth.

How are they getting things handed to them? Well, they are getting things handed to them, that is how.
Huge time investment? Lol. I don't think it takes 100 hours. And getting that kind of gear just means finding the right zone, which, with portals/maps all over the game, isn't that difficult. No challenge anymore, because of "casuals", or players who can't invest any time or are bad at the game.
Vault of Archavon? lol
Wow, brilliant argument. Glad this proves you're not just insecure troll and you have some logic and common sense to back up your absurd claims.
Yeah, you clearly know what you're talking about an not just some frightful pale-faced basement dweller that's having a nervous breakdown because all your years ignoring your health, career and sex life just so you can poop sock WoW has all been for nothing.
Any level 80 who invests 0-30 minutes a day can get the best gear in the game.

Cool. I always wanted to get tier 10 in the same time it takes my browser to load a new page.
If you stand VERY still, and close your eyes, after a minute you can actually FEEL the universe revolving around PvP.
Old school bosses, it didn't matter if you had the strategy or not.
New ones, that's all you need.
