Interview with my son about "What the Kids Are Playing"

There was an article with an interview of my son about Wizard 101 not too long ago.  It was pretty cool looking at things from a kids view.  It's interesting how a lot of their "wants" in a video game are similar to those of adults, except on the level of complexity.  Check out Free Realms from an 8-year-old's viewpoint:

You get to hear reviews from adults all the time, but when it comes to a game that really targets younger players, you don't end up reading my articles asking THEM what they think...

It's got to be hard making a game that not only appeals to kids, but can get adults interested in it too...

I enjoyed that. Same emotions, simpler language. I like being reminded that at the base level, I play mmo's because I never grew up.

When I was a kid these type of games were lame and you wanted to be adult. So you'd play games adults would play and watch movies they did as well. Disney was shit and Steven seagal was kool lol. That was when I was 6 and Under siege came out. Used to play Sim City and Privateer and System Shock, I just don't get how kids can play these types of games today. They even like the new Star Wars films.... I watched the old Star Wars films when I was around 6 as well and I loved them.

Well not everyone needs blood, blood, blood....kill, kill, kill!!  Sounds kind of pyschotic when you actually stop and think about it.

ya free realm was a nice game when i tried it in beta!very family oriented!its short burst oriented or so it seems

last i tried it ,its was very buggy or graphic card needed to be set in a specific way.

this is one of the biggest issue with all game today first info we should have is how to set our graphic card,

system, should i disable remote differential compression or activate it ,should i activate large adress aware or its not supported

all these and more are basic info gamer need today, or he or she might hate the game just because of a silly setting the dev forgot to mention.

anyway free realm is a success for soe!
