You know this game is going to have issues from the get go when the PWE team can't even put out an installer that works. A lot of people are having issues with the installer. I know from personal experience that both me and my girlfriend couldn't get the installer to work. It just hung there and wouldn't run. Had to kill it and reboot. Supposedly, they are working on a fix.

too bad for you and your girlfriends, mine had been install and ready to roll.
Mine worked on the first go around.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
I know it's beta, but come on...the installer won't even work. That's a bad sign right there. Something pretty basic.
Your Anti Virus program is keeping it from running. I am using Microsoft Security Essentials and I had to turn of Real Time Protection then install the game. This is the first closed beta not the official release. They have Support Forums for problems like this. Only took me 5 minutes to go there and find the problem.
Heck, I can't even get the beta key sent to me. Tried twice to have it emailed and have yet to receive it.
Checked my spam folder... nothing. Checked other email accounts "just in case"... nothing.
Tried signing up with a new account to see if maybe that would work, and when I click on teh authentication link in my email, I get an "oops... something went wrong" page basically saying they couldnt' activate my account.
I could get the client installed though lol... just can't play it.
Edit: nevermind... you can go to massively and they have a free code giveaway
and the cash shop selling asphalt..." - Mimzel on F2P/Cash Shops
mine worked perfect... w7 64bits.
There is no knowledge that is no power.
probably our anti-virus!lot of asian software are detected as safety hazard since most dont bother to send it to ms to get it
safety approved and since an insanelly lot moved to M.S.E for protection!good luck trying to bypass it!but thats at pw end
making sure they dont use software that trigger anti-virus response if they used the same tech as a lot other used they wouldnt have these issue!
IS MSE SO EXPENSIVE! LOL MS MSE IS FREE IF YOUR RUN A LEGAL COPY!
so unless they run illigal copy i dont get why pw would trigger anti-virus.the only reason is because they use unsafe code or part of code that is in ms database or norton database
Maybe the direct download client they pushed out was corrupted. I picked up the torrent one in an hour and works fine.
Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts.
EAT ME MMORPG.com!
well i had no problem at all when i installed the beta of BOI
The beta it self made the update . So the game is ready and so i'm
to play the game on 13th of april
Got my beta key for the Forsaken World too
Well have fun everyone with the beta
I'm running Microsoft Essentials Anti-Virus and had the issue of the installer hanging up. It was like Essentials was trying to decide whether the installation file was good or not. Finally, I managed to shut Essentials down long enough to get the installation started. The game installed fine after that, but I did have to turn the AV off again when I wanted to delete the install file off my desktop.
Weird.

The installer does have a tendency to hang. I believe the reason for this is the way the .exe handles itself. Keep in mind the exe is a little over 1gig in size. So what you may believe is the installer hanging is actually the inefficiency the the SINGLE large exe trying to unpack itself. Even on an adequate rig(computer) you may have to wait quite some time after executing the installer for it to respond. But be assured that it is still operating behind the scenes. You just have to give it a considerable amount of time.
Keep an eye on your hard-drive light indicator on the computer and as long as it still blinking fast you will know the exe is still unpacking in order to launch.
I have experienced this issue with other installers too that come in large single exe files.
Working on it
you are right, my computer tends to do the same for big .exe files prob because i'm using Windows Vista. For this file I had to wait about 5 min. before it started but I just left the computer idle for a while while it opened.
who the heck tho of a luncher of 1.04 gig
on top of that the file is bigger because before it lunch it unzip
the unzipping isnt bad but the lunching i have yet to see .since i end up stopping it before its done the beginning flow fairly good but the last 15 % oh god i lost patience !
no wonder my hd and proc are working at 90% a long time lol!
