Okay so I must say this prior, reason I'm hellbent stuck on buying a wired mouse this time is because I'm fed up with wireless lag.
My first mouse, MX620 (Wireless) got the double click plague, sometimes while dragging items across desktop or in game the click would stop and whatever I was dragging would stop being dragged... (This gets REALLY annoying). And sometimes clicks didn't register as well. On top the common wireless mouse issue of having bad sensitivity and movements that got laggy sometimes.
My second mouse, MX Revolution (Also wireless) Also got the double click plague. And the lag movements at times. I did however enjoy the feel of this mouse, it was nice and ergonomic.
Now after my MX Revolution failed I am stuck with using a cheapo wired dynex mouse I got free with a Computer Case purchase sometime in the past. The mouse has very sucky sensitivity, but it amazes me how accurate it is and that there is zero lag in movements. And I realize that maybe I need to just stick with a wired gaming mouse.
So all this dilemma aside, I've done some research on the popular mouse choices and the best bang for your buck wired gaming mouse, and it appears the Logitech MX518 is the king (Older but reliable and stable due plenty of time to get driver uses ironed out). But I've also found the Gigabyte M8000X that has 6K DPI and looks like it would feel amazing (It's also newer in terms of technology). So I'm stuck deciding which I would like, anybody had the chance to try both and if so which do you prefer more?

I would personally go for the Logitech MX518, awesome mouse and well built. As for the Gigabyte, i don't know.. who really need's 6k DPI O.O
6k DPI, sounds high enough were you could move it with your mind.
I just picked up a Razer Naga for $60.00 at Fry's. I'm still learning how to use it and for the first time I'm actually using the Ctrl, Shift, and Alt key combinations usable in games.
The Logitech MX518 is still a good mouse.
no matter which you choose.
just dont ever ever ever buy ANYTHING from Sweex!!! XD
its retarded and kills itself again and again..
i know because 3 of my Sweex mouses just broke down...
My logitech MX Revolution also had the double click issue and some of the lag you are talking about. Surprisingly though it was really bad for a week, but has since gotten a bit better and more back to normal. I still need to get a replacement because when it does double click and lag it is very much annoying. Seems like they have some issues to work out with their products.
I do very much agree with the feel. The Revolution is the most comfortable mouse I have used, and I am trying to decide what to get to replace it with as well.
The one I am most interested in getting is the Razer Mamba. It looks comfortable and is bot wireless and able to be wired as well. Wireless is the biggest requirement for me as I hate the wire pulling on me as I play games.
Nice to see I'm not alone with the double click curse, I saw the Razer mamba too, after the last poster recommended that MMO mouse I looked at some the razers available. The only one that appealed to me was the Imperator, it looks very comfy, but after reading some reviews it seems it's built rather cheap and flimsy. I totally get the wire pulling thought you have though, the way I get around that is by adjusting the wire to sit well beyond a book or something heavy so I have plenty of slack but not too much so It doesn't interfere.
I don't know, I just feel like I've missed out on some advantages in gaming after trying out my friends MX518 last night on her computer, the reaction times and feel of the mouse from movement to cursor speed was so much different compared to the wireless ones I've had. I don't think I'll be going back to wireless after testing that out last night.
I'm thinking the MX518 is my ticket, but I'm still pondering how that M8000X feels, I just wish I could test it and see how it fits my hands. So many choices lol.

I'd say go with the Logitech MX518.
Using the same mouse for a while now (and used the older version - the G5 for almost 3 years. Still works awesome to this day)
Logitech mice as pretty damn sturdy and seem to last longer than any other I have owned. Thier gaming mice hold up really well under constant use. The only logitech mouse I didnt like was my MX Rev. Just didnt feel right to me...

I have a razer naga and I love it. You can't reprogram the number keys which I think some people might find some issue with but it has helped me so much.

If you mean the keypad on the side of the mouse, yes you can reprogram/remap them. You can pretty much remap every key on the mouse and set up profiles that will load up when you use the game executable file. In razer naga configurator program you will see top view and thumb grid view. top view will be green and thumb grid view will be white, just click on thumb grid view and it will take you the screen where you can remap the keys.
Also razer naga mouse rules, especially paired with a N52te, only use the keyboard when I type. When using ventrilo dont even need a keyboard.
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
I use the Razer Naga and you can create macros and program the keypad to use them or any key bindings with the Naga configurator software. The software was updated this year as on release the macros and stuff weren't in there however now it's fully programmable.
Also I'd reccomend getting this mouse 100% it was well worth the extra expense and I now consider it an essential gaming peripheral.
