One real problem with EvE

as an american industrialist, as soon as i come home almost all if not all the ABCs are gone when i get home from work. i have a full time job. i, like many of my american counter parts, work. by the time alot of us get home to play, the good minerals are gone because downtime/uptime starts perfectly in time for the prime times of european/asian countries, letting them have all the good ores and leaving us crap. same goes for alot of the mag/radar sites that spawn in upgraded systems. all gone within a matter of hours. this greatly favorites europeans/asians while putting north/south americans at a disadvantage. how about changing the DT/UP times on different days to be more fair for EVERYONE?
posts like this have been going up for YEARS, many times, by many different serious industialists. and ccp does sh*t all to fix it. what does it take to get things balanced???

Yeah man that sucks. They should either increase the yield of these ores or change the up/down time as you suggest. I think the best way would be to change the yield.
ABC are mined in 0.0 by corps and lliances there, so if they are mining it all up are these your corp/allinace members, if so then they give the mins to the corp? or do they keep it themselves?
Something that maybe be worth posting about on the Eve main forums really so that it gets noticed.

Maybe you could go more out of your way and find a system that is less sytematically mined?
mag/radar sites and the like actually spawn all day long so you shouldn't have any trouble finding them.

I am not going to troll or flame you but you posted this on the offical Eve forums under the Features and Ideas section recently which of course is what you should do. My question though is why bother with it here ?

As was posted in your thread over there it's more a problem with the respawn code and not the downtime.
I suggest figuring out a proper solution and proposing it to CCP in a well constructed manner (yes they do listen to that stuff, I have seen it many times). Also I believe there is a fanfest video where they talked about upcoming changes to mining making it more dynamic and much less exploitable by macros. System wide belts rather than set static belts and more hidden high end roids that need to be scanned down if I remember correctly.

Uh, DT is over hours before I get back from work.
DT is when it is because the TQ server is in London. it's based around the working day of the staff there.

I haven't had a problem with it. The only time I really have a problem with everything being exhausted, is when I stay up really late at nigh and am awake for that 4am server shut down. Right before then, it starts to become a problem, but other than that I usually don't find it bothersome. Yeah, I've seen it at prime time in the US, but it hasn't really been a problem for me.

But seriously, EU side of things constantly get screwed, EU servers are always the first to go, they are always more laggy and it most cases the EU versions of MMO's dont get updated or even looked at. Even release dates.. americans are always just a few days ahead. Down times and maintenance shedules are nearly ALWAYS biased for american comfort
And yet, in the only game where EU has a timing advantage STILL not satisfied americans literally spam any forum they can see about it.
I just think that sometimes you guys dont realise there is a world out there beyond your coast line and just dont know how good you've got! And yes, clearly the entire world can see that you dont give a shit about Euros and the rest of the world it would appear.
but yes, there is a definate advantage, as the op rightly points out, There are a lot of things that get's reset after DT and is the best time to scout for Faction NPC's and overseers... Nearly all the juicy ones are found just after DT, by the time our american 'brothers' come online the belts are nearly clean.
Actually, as an American I have HATED the trend to split games into EU/NA/Pacific servers. In these games, the best friends I have made have been in Europe and Australia. To the point I have had people from the UK and Austria visiting my home (still friends with them from EQ days) Since this trend started of splitting the servers, I have not had that good fortune, which sucks.
That scores a point for EVE imo, they are still global in a time when servers are more often than not split. I know there are always lag and performance issues, but its nice making friends on both sides...of both ponds.
i disagree that it really favours the Europeans, 11.00 gmt is middle of the working day after all, and those at school.. are at school, short of taking a day off of work, or skipping school.. this only favours the unemployed... or housewives, who have nothing better to do than mine asteriods.... i expect to get flamed for that remark about the housewives.. but its just a joke!... anyway.. the time is i guess, meant to inconvenience the least amount of people.. not to give an advantage to whoever happens to be 'awake, not at work, or playing truant' ...

You guys should do what we do, We hate our own people and pay no mind to anyone else lol. Euro might as well be mars to the NA people.

cant get around it? getting around it isnt the issue here. go mine in another system. you are so busy looking at ways to insult people that it just goes right over your head. the issue here is balance, and this isnt balanced. yes i can go over to another system if it hasnt been mined out already, but guess what? now i have to apply uncessary logistics that those who live in a better time zone dont have to bother with. setting up a pos, risk my ships constanly going back and forth through a gate, making a cyno alt to jump a roqual back and forth? putting in the extra effort isnt even the issue, its the fact that I AM FORCED to do so due to bad game mechanics. forcing my transport ships, hulks, or whatever i am hauling with shouldnt be forced down on anyone just because of DT. what do the others have to deal with? watching local, docking/posing up, and competing with eachother? i wish it was as easy as just competing with eachother.
this doesnt even apply to just mining, look at the mag/radar sites that spawn in upgraded system. i bet alot of North/South Americans didnt even know they were even there! they all spawn at uptime everyday, once they are completed they stay gone until the next uptime the next day. now i mine to upgrade that system, i join CTAs to protect that system, and in the end, the fruits of labor are gone. not because of greed, by all means if people can go for it, GO FOR IT. its all gone because of bad game mechanics. theres no real reason why these sites cant be spawned randomly through out the day. just like regular exploration sites/complexes.
look at the sov map . HALF of 0.0 is controlled by russians. dont let alot of those small little blobs of different colors fool you, they are mainly pets/ renters/buffers. uptime comes right at their prime time. now i'm not saying they aren't good players or anything, but don't you think those fresh new spawned resources that got handed to them at their prime time doesnt play a part in making it easier for them to have isk? this even applies to the time they were in empire with easy to access belts in all the prime spots.
i know such simple minded thinking is far beneath your level of thought in that massive brain of yours, but do come down to my level and try to see it.
oh and everyone stop with the American/EU hate issue, this thread has nothing to do with any hate. its about game mechanics and the need for it to be fixed so things are more fair for everyone around the globe.

It's all about the relative grease:potato ratio.
It's one of the negatives of having one server with many different types of people from all over playing. Other Americans in your situation coupe just fine.
There's nothing you can do about it. CCP wont change the time of downtimes so you can get spawns faster than other people.

If anything im a little pissed off that we don't have vendors that sell awesome fish and chips in newspaper or brown bag here.
I would trade all the hotdog vendors for something like that lol.

It is a negative at the moment unfortunately but it is something that is being worked on, there is something that can be done.
In one of the videos Ihave seen with devs (can't remember if it was a fanfest or dev convention video) either way they talked a bit about system wide belts and require more scanning for roids to mine. They don't need to change downtimes when they can rework mining and respawn timers.It will be addressed but this is CCP we are talking about and they are not known for their quickness.

*after the 8h shift any extra hour have to be payed double (the extra hour per year are limited to 80h)
*if a worker dont have a contract to be available 24h (this cost extra money) he dont have to got at work if there is a problem

Maybe you could save up some of that money you earned from your full time job, and file a class action law suit against the asian farmers like they did in WoW
Set up a small POS in a WH and you won't have that problem.
