I have decided to take a mini break from EVE, and other than logging in once every few days to change my training and general housekeeping I won’t be playing much of EVE for a while. I feel it’s a good idea not to play to much of eve, or any single game otherwise you can get bored of it, no matter how good the game is. So I’ve been looking for something different to pass the time, and I’ve been leaning towards a PvE game. Just one problem... where the hell have all the good PvE games gone?
Perhaps I’m looking into things too much, but according to the forum post there hasn’t been a good MMO for a long time.
Age of Conan, and Warhammer, Aion, Darkfall and a good few others have seem to of disappointed many of you. Now I haven’t played any of these games, but I from what I’ve read and heard, none of them have lived up to their massive hype and expectation. The game I have tried so far is Lord of the Rings. I found it pretty enough to look at, but found it rather unoriginal gameplay wise.
I am currently trying Vanguard and I will give it a fair crack of the whip before casting any judgement on it.
However, beyond the games I have mentioned, there are hundreds of MMO’s that have ratings below 7 out of 10. Many of these games I would call Korean Lineage grinders, which I have no interest in playing. Other than that, there are the usual suspects, of guild wars, which is primarily a pvp game, Everquest 2 and World of Warcraft. Are these games still the best that PvE has to offer? If so, what does it say about the quality of the MMO’s that have come out since EQ2, WoW and GW were first released? And why has the social aspect of games deteriorated.

MMO's are pretty shit nowadays, no way around it.
