The graphics are pretty bad. I woudn't say AC bad, but more like a shadowbane. Then again ShadowBane had nice features inplace and the game actually worked.

Nice features inplace? Like what? NPC's, bridges, buildings, fountains, roads, barns, wells, benches, light posts, furniture, towns, etc.?
This game will only have the environment (wilderness), weather (real time) and indiginous plants and animals (no respawning and walking predetermined paths, they react to their world in movement across the terrian like real animals in their environment). The players build everything! The players get to add and subtract from the world. They can create and destroy. There are no NPC's, NPC towns or building or anything else created by artists. Players will create towns and villages, roads, buldings, etc.
So if your saying it has bad graphics becuase it doesn't have nice features in place, like the ones I have mentioned or lack of 'eye candy', then you do not understand this game or what they are trying to do.
The environemnt and weather engine for this game is up to date and look great. It is based on real U.S. Geological Survey data maps of the Lake Tahoe area scaled to 25:1. Sorry if it doesn't look fake and plasticy of real fantasy worlds.
Games not complete yet or released so II guess the graphics suck... Link below.
PS- Here is an example of terraforming by players and weather effects. When the player began his Sphinx and pyramide, there was no snow on the ground. Snow and rain accumulate as it falls. Nice touch to bad graphics I guess.

The graphics are pretty bad, the animations bad as well. All the features you list 90% of them are missing. Until they are actually added that list means nothing. Shadowbanes features however worked and was ingame at launch. City building, open pvp, indepth character creator/building.
I think a big problem with these indie guys are the fact they put this nice list upfront to get people to invest in the game. Then later on they figure out that half of the list is impossible for them to implement. This pisses off the majority of the crowd who invested time into it. Why don't they just keep everything to themselves until they know for sure the features work.
I mean damn if its this easy to get money from people I may get a mod kit and create my own sandbox game. I will put up a HUGE list of AMAZING features and hire a couple friends to help me tinker on it during the weekend. Then I will open up the server to people who prepay.
If your game has a list that unique and large and you only get 1/4 of it in, youll still make a killing and so will they because even at that rate its still more than most other mmos out there.

You said that the 90% of the features I mentioned are missing? The only one missing but will be in shortly are the animals. Terrain, check. Weather effects, check. Terraforming, check. Build roads, check. Some skills and crafting, check. I said the players will be able to, will being the key word here since the game is not yet launched, be able to build buildings and towns, etc.
They have most of these features and will be turning them on and testing for stability. Better to test one at a time instead of putting all in and finding out you have a desync issue and then having to turn them all off to try and find the issue. Hmmm... sounds familar. Where have I heard of this before? Oh right, Mortal Online!
You also said, "Shadowbanes features however worked and was ingame at launch. City building, open pvp, indepth character creator/building." Well duh! Ingame at launch is another key word. At lauch. When it launches and so on. Xsyon has not yet launchedt, still in beta.
I will agree with you the character animations are bad. They said they are working on it but what's ingame now for animations or sounds are basically place holders until they get to it. Stability is their main concern. Same goes for combat.
I was comparing to the comment of the title of this post. The graphics are bad because there are no features in or eye candy; meaning no NPC's (game won't have any) NPC cities, towns, buildings, etc. The graphics for the terrain, weather and atmosphere looks great! The post wasn't "This game is bad because their are no features in it." It was bad because of the graphics or lack of in game feature renderings like buildings and such. There is nothing wrong with the graphics and no they do not look bad.

The graphics certainly could use some help, but good gameplay could easily make up for that.
What gets me is the idle animation. look right, look left, look straight, repeat. It's too monotonous and regular. It ends up looking like a metronome and being somewhat distracting.

No NPC's, NPC cities or towns eh? Last game to go that route was AC2 and this was considered to be one of its greatest failings as an MMORPG.
And don't buy into the story that all of the content is there but not turned on yet. Its not turned on because its still unfinished.
I'm all for giving indie Dev's a break, but every single one of them is plagued by goggle eyed fans who support them against all reason and can't see the forest for the trees.

Let’s take the screenshots and stick to the 'bad graphics' post (I'm skipping the NPC argument). Here is the first hint that they do have these features and are turning them on one by one and testing for stability. How do we know this? Let’s take a look together. Look at the background trees and grass and other colored textures on the ground, rocks, etc. For the past two weeks I was testing a game in what I thought was a bit drab because of its winter snow on the ground and limited colors except for the green pines and the sunrises and sunsets. It looked nothing like the screenshots, until yesterday.
As I began helping a new player to the game I noticed the snow on the ground was less. I could see more brown needles and the textures of the junk piles that had once been almost been completely covered and featureless. It then began to rain and everything started to change from here. It rained almost every 10 min for about an hour. Pretty soon the snow was gone and a landscape began to emerge from its winter hibernation. Then the dark brown grasses across the open areas began to change to green. Even the dead willow type trees with their dangle lifeless brown branches began to show signs of life with green foliage. Within that hour or two the scenery changed from winter to spring. It wasn't in a blink of an eye but you could see it change, soon the trees which were not conifers, had life again and in full bloom of leaves. The pines did not have snow on their branches anymore and the lake basin came to life.
So what the hell does this have to do with features and what you are babbling about? The sceanary now in game looks the same as in the screenshots. Some of the limited items you can make, not all features turned on (I know you love this line) are exactly like in the screenshots. This shows they have the features they mentioned and the same ones seen on the screenshots. Does this mean the game is around the corner from being complete? No. So what does it mean.
It means thats yes, this game has GOOD graphics and the features are being tested an implemented as stated. They have the features they have listed. It means that they are implementing them one at a time to test for stability. Is the game ready? No, not at this stage but it doesn't mean that they are creating all the features menioned on the fly at the last second. Before two weeks ago for me the game didn't look like the screenshots. Screenshots don't mean beans I understand, but you begin to get a sense of the concept, scope and size of the game the devs had in mind, but to see it you need to be able to see the finer details as the trees emerge from the forest. Don't be so quick to judge. Take a closer look at the smaller details to be able to see the bigger picture.
