H O G G is on NA-1
The title of the thread tells the sad tale. HOGG is on NA-1 which means it's time for me to transfer to EU-1. Can I even transfer, I have no idea?
Last night I saw players in Ork RA saying HOGG this and that but thought it was just some copycat version of HOGG. I've seen players make fictitious versions of them before and didn't give it another thought while swimming.
About 2 hours later I saw the dreaded names of Sixthtrump HOGG and Thorzan HOGG after killing me 8 times at my swimming spot in less than 60 minutes. Keep in mind I have been killed about 10 times since February. I logged out and came back 2 hours later to be killed by them again. If you have never played a game with this guild then you will not believe what is coming to NA-1. These HOGG guys will destroy the server to a point of it not being worth the time. They destroyed the population on Grimdal (Runes of Magic) and I don't even want to get into what they did to the Tyranny server on Age of Conan.
I've seen players form HOGG Raid groups to kill them but they soon realize that they are only on the server to kill the new players and have no interest in fighting high level players or loot. Players always think they can combat these guys but they aren't on the server for the same reasons. I've seen them manipulate so many in-game mechanics that developers would never even dream would take place in their games world. These guys are Professional Griefers and you will not forget them if this is your first exposure.
I know what you are thinking and unless you have experienced how these guys operate you have no idea.
If I can't transfer to EU-1 then I guess I'll be forced to quit this game.

Fuck the pigs, oinkers, whatever the hell they're called. There should be more than enough players to give some grief back to a chickenshit guild.

The point is "enough players" never group up to grief them. They just think as long it doesnt affect me i dont care.
I start to think that because of "crush to play" mentality FFA PvP no safe zones isnt viable at all.

Haha Darkfall might be the game they fail.
Last night one of the griefers from a clan called newbie population control was bindstone resskilled for an hour as revenge for a similar action. He cried like a little child in race chat. I guess the players in NA1 got the same dedication. Just resskill them for hours untill they log of. If we pansy europeans can do it so can you.
Well, i've read about HOGG and their exploits before, and I guess if the players in DF can't put together a decent resistance to their tactics then no gaming community can.

Ok i found their website, just a limited amount of players with a 1 member per year recruitment tactic. They will get zerged and QQ and ragequit ;P

let me get this straight. You cannot. IF You cannot macro, you leave darkfall. Was it easy? Uou didnt need to make a huge post about it.
These HOGG guys you talking about from how i see it are helping darkfall to make the devs wake up quickly to fix the problem about newb's gap compared to vets. They also prevent players from macroing. So seriously, i dont see the problem at all.

I haven't seen any griefers yet in the game, i dont think they even exist. Maybe because the game is too PVE oriented, but i dont know. There may be a reason why there aren't any griefers in darkfall.
My Darkfall character was stuck in RED alignment until I killed enough people AFK hitting trees and rocks. Darkfall is hardcore

Are you saying that a hardcore ffa pvp game like Darkfall has not attracted equally hardcore and sadisitc and talented players who would love to have a go at eating these guys for lunch?
Are you saying that there aren't several guilds like this who wouldn't just love to ban together and use these guys as target practice?
If that is the case then I question the hard core nature of darkfall and it's players. My sense is that you are wrong and they are there.
years ago on the hindemith server, lineage 2, when a clan or alliance became hated on the server, the entire server would unite and rip them down.
It is more than possible to do this. It just takes players who are willing to play an ffa pvp game the way it should be played. people grouped up, alliances made, spies and scouts set and constant pressure put on these guys.

LOL this kind of reminds me of another guild i ran into a couple years ago who attempted the same thing and considered themselved "pro" gankers/griefers/pvpers because of their success in past games.... I had fun making their entire guild ragequit almost entirely by myself. All it took was showing them what real PvP looks like (rather than ganking new players) and how weak they were as a whole when people started dropping from guild because everywhere any of their officers went with them in party, i was right on their ass preventing them from gaining any XP or money. It was so amusing watching their leader and self proclaimed best pvper along with the 2nd in command just nonstop QQ in all chat and posting threads on the forums trying to get me to leave them alone.
Then came all the zerg guilds to take their place... those were almost a smuch fun to destroy.
No, I think what he's saying is that these self-professed "hardcore" FFA Darkfall players run around crying like a pack of 7-year old girls when they get a taste of their own medicine.

HOGG was awesome in AoC. There was only a handful of them and it's all it took to shut down a zone, plus they were really funny when they did it. I can only imagine the grief they are causing in DF, but again, there's only so many of em', so it's not like they can rule the server or anything. I wouldn't even call them a zerg crew, the most I seen at once is maybe 4.

There are so many injustices in the world that should have us all rioting in the streets with pitchforks, torches and (my personal favourite) heads-on-pikes, but they can generally be safely perpetrated because everyone tucks their head down and just carries on with their own business.

If the players don`t make them quit, the grind will for sure. They will never get a decent char and will be permanent noobs in Darkfall. They`ll have no place to train the char if the server decide to take them out. Sure they kan kill a few new players, but that`s nothing new in this game.

1st of all, not after the next patch.
Also, HOGG macro in darkfall. Did you saw they video? Plus, they wont go on veterans. They will probably kill newb's only. Even if, i had to play darkfall, the only thing i would do is killing newb's instead of macroing and do the boring pve all day long while killing trolls, goblin and kobold.

Being camped by griefers is one of the funnest things that has ever happened to me. It was like logging into a game where there is immediate PVP action (besides this one time when I was bugged and did not have an invul. shield)! Really fun to figure out how to get away and rest up, then come back and try and take out one too far from his friends, quickly water log with his stuff, and then log back in with a shield protecting you as you safely run to the bank and put his bag in it while his friends can do nothing about it. Repeat this process until you have a few sets! Even if I fail everytime, I think that it is fun to try . .. I have been successful enough times getting gear like this that whenever I think that people are going to hang around and camp the bindstone it gets me really excited.

lol, well, first of all if the OP had a "swimming spot", means he was only training his swimming skill (let me call it that). So if he gets ganked there, go do something else, somewhere else.
Besides, they must be red towards even own race or alliance by now, which means they can not go near any city unless they have uber-arcane protection. and if they are small, they don't have an own hamlett, so that means they have a tough time skilling up, crafting,etc. etc., so they will quit again after a while.
one thing they managed: they made a name for themselves. just like in reality, 15 minutes of fame, then forgotten.
I remember reading the thread from the OP about RoM, and didn't it turn out he was self promoting this HOGG clan in the guise of being continually griefed by them?
..was sad then, still sad now dude, no one cares about your "pro" griefing buddies, every game has the exact same dedicated no-lifers to deal with, so they are nothing special.
