Just ran the test on High, got a score of 3922. Load time of 26188 ms.
system is phenom ii x3 720 OC'd to 3.2
8 gigs of "gaming" ram
radeon 5870
on LOW settings my score was 3982. load time of 21454. not much difference. hmmm
Read my post almost right above yours, your low is affected by your processor a lot. You have like the best or 2nd best single card on the market, minus something like a 5970(dual gpus on one board), but a processor nowhere near as good. For the low setting of this benchmark, processor really matters, not sure if it will in game.

Tried unlocking the 4th core on the 720? Or going higher than 3.2?

no i haven't. i really don't know how. i'm sure i could find something on it. and i haven't gone above 3.2 because i've read you have to start altering voltages and thats where i'm a noob at overclocking. i've got a nice cpu cooler so i'm sure it could go above that. i just don't know much about altering voltages.
Hey guys i know 20,000 people have made these similar posts and while i am tech savvy i still would like your guys's input.
I Have a Hp dv6 performance notebook that i purchased at the end of this past year note planning on much online gaming besides FFXI which i have been obsessed with since launch however im concerned if i'll be able to run FFXIV. I can't run the benchmark without it crashing until i get a new graphics card besides my current integrated crap one so im wondering do you think i could score 2k+ with my current specs (which aren't amazing i know aiming for 4k+ scores aren't realistic) and a new graphics card, and if so any decent priced suggestions? Greatly appreciated
My specs:
CPU: Intel Core 2 duo T6600 @ 2.2GHz
RAM: 4GB
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Again any suggestions on minimum graphics card (if any are capable) to get my score to 2k+?
Just wanna know before purchasing if its worth trying to make it work.

It's a laptop, you don't upgrade laptops. There's really nothing you can do with your current computer.
Really? Cuz i was talking to one of my friends who bought a new laptop and i believe he said he purchased a graphics card for it and was and hit like 2200 on his benchmark.

Well first off, you can't upgrade laptops like that. You have to buy a new one.
Secondly I have an Intel Core 2 duo @ 2.4 GHz, 3GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS and I got a 248 on the benchmark. So you're going to need something higher than an 8 series and likely higher than the mobile 9 series.

Really? There's no way i could get a graphics card for a lap top put into it to replace the integrated one? And gotcha yeah i figured maybe a Nvedia GTX 260 or somethin

The integrated graphics card is part of your motherboard. Less replacing the motherboard (which won't happen on your laptop), there's no chance to upgrade your card.
Considering a new rig for this game is on par with buying a PS3/XBox360 for a particular game that's coming out (though the cost is often triple a console).
I just replaced my GFX card today in prep for FFXIV next month, and here are my scores.
CPU: Phenom II X4 965 Black (3.4)
RAM: 6 Gb
OS: Win 7 - 64bit
GFX (old): Nvidia 9800 GT | scored 1492
GFX (new): Radeon 5770 | Scored 2510
Though the benchmarks are of course very strict and overzealous in their marks, it's best to try the game before you go out buying new hardware.
It's not completely impossible. Some laptops, maybe most of the newer ones have slots that you could put a new GPU in, but it's a pain in the ass and by the time you pay for the gpu, and if you don't know what you are doing, pay for someone to put it in, you'd be better off getting a new one with more RAM and a better processor. My $.02.

Correct, integrated graphics, by definition, are built into the motherboard.
If your laptop comes with a dedicated video card then it can usually be replaced, although, it's also usually not an easy process.

High at what resolution? Like a 1080p display and maxed settings? Probably not going to happen with that graphics card, but overall it should be a decently good system. Little expensive, but that's how prebuilts work.

I agree with Dareantk - that's a meh system, and you can do MUCH better looking for a prebuilt. A phenom II @ 2.8 is probably the 240 model which runs around $50. Not to mention the gfx card (the Radeon 4200) is about obsolete. Steer clear from any bestbuy, walmart, or comparable pre-builds. They're junk.
Here's a pre-build at around the same price as that one, with a high quality cpu and gfx card:

I purchased this laptop about 7 months ago for 800$ and it was the best i could get for the money i had at the time for what i needed. The benchmark crashes everytime i try to run it and i was wondering if anyone knew how i could get it to work? I believe its because of my lack of a high end graphics card which apparantly i can't upgrade. I'm currently downloading the latest drivers for my integrated graphics unit which is just a basic Mobile Intel 4 Express Chipset family and am wondering with the new drivers will i be able to run the benchmark or sustain FFXIV at all when it launches?
You can't play the game at all with your laptop nor probably run the benchmark. A desktop for 800 or less could run this game pretty good, for a laptop you need to look into the specs VERY CAREFULLY and it'll probably run you 1k+.

Laptops aren't designed for gaming. Though some have decent hardware, if gaming is your desire, a desktop is where you need to go. And yes, in my previous post I linked to a decent pre-build for around $700. Sadly, laptops are difficult to expect much from, let aside word processing or web surfing.
Also, spending money on a gaming laptop rig is not a wise move. A year or so later, that $1k rig won't handle the 'next big thing' and you'll be S.O.L. If you're going to invest in something, make it a desktop so that you can nickel and dime your way into progress.

Buying a new computer soon, this is the one im thinking of getting, I want to be able to run this game of High with atleast 40 fps.
