Input lag when driving vehicles, still there?

nekrothingnekrothing Member Posts: 302

I remember when driving a vehicle in APB, there would be some input lag (meaning when I pressed A or D or something when driving a vehicle, the vehicle wouldn't turn left or right until about 2-3 seconds after I press A or D). Was just wondering if this input lag was still around, or if they bothered to fix it.

Actually,it's surprisingly better. I have no problems driving as of now, good thing they got it fixed before release.

depends how far you are from the server, anything over 150ms and yes the driving input is quite bad (IMO). Under 100ms and its pretty much smooth sailing.

I live in the US, but was planning on getting the EU version of the game. So I guess that it should be pretty bad then? lol

I can't speak for the Americans but as an Aussie playing on the EU servers...its unplayable.

The lag in vehicles is about 5 seconds, shooting is about 3.  Doesn't matter how much they improve the performance i doubt it will ever get below a full second delay (which is killer in a fps game)

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

Ouch, that doesn't sound too good. :(

Would it be possible to ping either the NA server or the EU server though? If anyone knows, so maybe I can get an idea of what my ms might be for both of the servers.

If you live in CA you should have great pings to atleast one server. unless it was during a stress test cause from number of players or devs themself.

Do you have high ping in all games? If you have high pings in all games it might be because of bad wiring in the house or your ISP sucks with routing.

Yeahh, I feel bad for you Aussies =/

They just got to hope it gets popular enough for a server to be located there. I always feel bad for aussies. Do they still have that bandwidth cap on ISP providers?

Usually my ping is pretty good, depending on where the server I'm playing on is located at. I found a post over on the APB forums though...

    http://eu.apb.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5412

One of the users posted that the NA server is located in Texas, and the EU one is located in Germany. I went ahead and ran the pingtest for the Germany server a few times, and my ms was between 150-175. Think that might be too high? In most online games, I find anything under 190ms to be tolerable, but APB seems to handle lag differently from other online games (with input lag increasing the higher your ms is, which I have only ever experienced in one other online game (Borderlands)).
