I have both but my computer is a mac but do have bootcamp tha played fallout and mass effect 2 fine so think can handle this. Just wondering what version to get. I like keyboard and have it for my ps3. Like the idea of it on my 50 inch tv so ps3 looks good but also like the idea of playing it if travel so laptop looks good also heh.

What version are you planning on getting?

This is a tough one because I have seen in vids how they have mapped to the PS3 controller but not how it will and "should" run on a PC. Normally I would automatically suggest PC because mouse/keyboard typically is better and you can ratched up some of the settings  farther depending on your rig.

If I had an PS3 I would still go for PC. Roleplaying/Socializing plain sucks without a keyboard.

I would say it depends entirely on what control style you prefer. Personally, I find a mouse / keyboard combination to be the most "natural" option for this sort of game. My kids however, all seem to like console controls.

I have both and I am getting it for ps3. I was hoping it would be cross platform so I could have the best of both worlds but since that wont happen I am going with the ps3 for a few reasons.

    1. Dont have to worry about computer specs.

    2. With everyone having the same specs, less lag and waiting on people to load in an instance and such

    3. There arent any MMOs for the new gen consoles (excluding FFXI for 360, was a last generation game though)

    4. Controls on ps3 look fluid where I think they will be awkward for an action game on a keyboard

    5. I think It will have good chat since it will have to have voice chat for the ps3, talking and fighting is alot easier than typing.

There are a few cons to not getting it for PC, the main one being that I could be wrong and the chat could completely suck and a few more, but the good thing is most of the annoying kids that play on ps3 will get a subscription game, and if you have to chat with a keyboard you can just plug one into the ps3 or get one of the controller keyboards that work really well for chatting.

I decidedly wanted to play the game on PS3 at first when I thought it was a B2P game, but now that there is a sub fee I'm just going to play on my PC with my controller.  I know it sounds weird, but I don't want to have to continuously type in credit card info when I decide to sub, etc and volley back and forth.

Well actually they have hinted that you will be able to buy time through the playstation store, so all you have to do is put in your info once, add money and buy when your time runs out.

I'm going PS3. With a USB keyboard it's not that much of a hassle, and I like the way super hero games play with a controller (used a 360 controller for champions and found it more fun than mouse and keyboard). Also, all my friends are getting it for PS3; I'm sure that factors in somewhere :p

I would prefer to play on a PC myself but all of my friends are getting the PS3 version. So since cant play on same servers as PS3 then thats what I will be going with.

I wish they would allow cross platform servers, but oh well the PS3 version should be fine I hope.

This. If the game is made for PS3 first and  PC as a second option, I would and will go with PS3. Lost Planet comes to mind as a game I played on PC that just felt like it was made for console and added to PC as an afterthought. Never checked, maybe it was.

WOW isnt great because it has 12 million players. WOW has 12 million players because its great.

PS3 if I hear it's worth paying for after it's release.

I would like to play it for the PC but I'm going to get the PS3 version because I can't afford to upgrade my pc to be able to play it smoothly

  • maskedweaselmaskedweasel Member LegendaryPosts: 12,195

If I HAD to choose between the two, I would go with PC AS LONG AS it still supported the controller image

PC, so I can laugh when the PS3'ers cry about their lesser graphics.image

I don't see how this is relevant to the game.

Why would PS3 owners need to upgrade anything?  The game will be optimized for the PS3 specs.

PC.  Because I wanted the Collectors Edition, which is only for PC.  Because the graphics are able to be set higher on PC.

    Oh, and I don't own a PS3 image

I'm going for PS3. It seems more of an action game to me and PS3 controllers will make this more comfortable. YOu can still plug a keyboard into the system too, for chat, so that point is moot. I would be surprised if their wasn't voice chat to make communication easier too.

You can also plug a dual action controller into your PC, so that point is moot as well.

    PS3 for obvious reasons:

    • 40' 1080p HD gaming goodness

    • Built in Voice chat with any bluetooth headset (optional bluetooth or usb keyboard)

    • Optimized gameplay for PS3 controller (optional mouse and keyboard)

    • Superior sound delivery through my 5.1 setup

    • Frees up my laptop (which will sit right next to me on the couch) to do whatever I want

    • Better seating arrangements

And trust me, they WILL have exclusives for the PS3 version. I mean really...they've been doing collector's eds on the console way longer than the PC.

Eh, no, because then I can't sit and enjoy the PS3 I bought for use on my 40" 1080p widescreen tv from the comfort of my couch, or easy chair. Being on a PC i would have to contend with a smaller screen(not that mine is shabby, I do like it) and crouching over my keyboard in a constant sitting up position. Point of fact is, I play on PC and PS3, love both for different reasons, I already play EVERY other MMO on the PC, I'd like to shake it up a bit and play on my PS3.

    Console haters...sheesh.
