Screens of Station Cash Armor (M&F)

anothernameanothername Member UncommonPosts: 200

I searched at several places now, but not even the EQ2 marketplace seems to show these items. I tought they are like a million times better looking than the "regular" ingame stuff (not that this seems to be something complicated to do ;) ). Does somebody knows where to find the male & female visuals for these appearance tab fillers?

I think if you CTRL+Right click the item in the marketplace it will show you what they look like on your character.

Hold down control when clicking the items in the marketplace window to preview them on your character in the dressing room. This works in the auction house and in linked items. Click the icons displayed in the right hand panel window of the specific item to preview individual parts of a set.

*cough* I should have mentioned that I'm not subscribed by now, sorry  image

The ingame armor visuals long before the shop armor was a major reason to unsub. But if they look really great... why not give it a new try.

there is nothing particularly special about the marketplace armor.  some of the appearances have different colour from what's available otherwise and there are a couple of special heads.  Most people use the much cooler in-game obtainable armor.  There are cool sets buyable for shards / marks and obtainable through battlegrounds that are much better looking than this stuff.  sorry no pics.

p.s.  thread with many pictures from EQ2.  old thread so some links are gone, start at the end of the thread.  disclaimer:  eq2flames is most likely NSFW as far as people's language and possibly signatures go.

edit: to be clear, that thread doesn't have the paid armor pics, just various pics of cool gear in game.

Ok. Thanks... I already knew about that thread, but good to know the market armor is nothing special. *sigh* Didn't they planned some kind of big appearance makeover a year or two ago?

That was 4 years ago, time flies. They did implement it for the 2 races in Kunark but never revamp the old races. There are a few good looking things, but they are more or less plate all of them. A few acceptable chains too but clothes and leather still look boring.

The good point of buying appearance armor or getting the old kit from vampire chronicles is that anyone can wear it. But the plate set doesn't look better than the other plate set.

There are a few good things there however, like the "gloves" that shows your hands bare with a large emerald ring on a finger.

they planned to redo the models so that it's easier to make new appearance stuff for them.  this plan was scrapped.  however, there is substantially more good-looking armor in the game today than there was 2 years ago and it's night and day compared to where the game was for the first couple of expansions.

There are many beautiful robes for the clothies, some nice GIs and leather thingies and (as previous poster said), a few cool chain appearances and quite a lot of cool plate armor.

Designs are still mostly subdued compared to the giant random spikes and raindbow parade gear of WoW, but if you are ok with a more realistic style, there is lots of cool gear.  They have added SOME of the flashy wow-like gear, but i am personally not a fan of that.  Still, if that's the sort of thing you like, there are a few pieces and I'm guessing there will be more.

There are a few of WoW armors which I do like indeed, but overall I'm not that in love with that style. Some of these are nice (white hair guy, female mage & dark elf for example). Sounds like EQ2 came closer to their intro. Maybe I give it a new try on my incoming vacation.

Everything on station cash is just appearance stuff with a few exceptions...

    1. That stupid cat. There's a mount they recently released for major cash that has bonuses. This caused the community to protest majorly on the forums and the devs got so defensive they spent a great deal of time trying to defend themselves.

    2. Experience pots. Which area  total waste of money but if you want to blow your cash, have fun. You have buy experience pots to increase the amount of exp you from adventuring/combat, crafting, and aa. Are they worth the money? Not a bit.

    3. Gender change/class change tokens. Do what they say. Lots of money. Not worth it.

    4. Station exchange tokens. Again, not worth it.
