The IP has great potential as a great AAA MMO. Unfortunately, they seem to want to make a fast buck by licensing out the IP to a coimpany that's probably going to make it play like hundreds of other Chinese games. After the success of War of Cybertron, you think they would take the NA market more seriously.
Unless of course this MMO is only intended for the third world countries and they are working on developing a AAA MMO for NA, EU, and Oceaniana. Two different MMO's for two different markets might be a good idea, if that is what they are planning.
IMO its the stupidest idea I have heard in a long time.
Transformers? Seriously?
Next will be a Thundercats MMO, or Speedracer, or Pokemon. How about Dukes of Hazard, The A-Team, Charlies Angels?
MMO's are starting to become like Hollywood. No original ideas. Just rehashing old and busted IP's into games
/facepalm

I've always liked perceptor (transformed into a microscope in the cartoon) or that one autobot that turned into a tank......i forget his name. But really all we can do till it comes out is hope, maybe if we all wish real hard itll turn out a great game........... lol. A Transformers MMO would be very awesome indeed if it is done correctly.
Warpath, from the Autobots. The Decepticons had that Triple-Changer, Blitzwing. Also, the Combaticon Brawl turned into a tank.
LOL to the people who think it is arrogant that the game is not going to be released in North America, well get over yourself.
When you release all over the world except where the IP is most appreciated, then something is fishy.
What am I talking about? I am talking about that in order to get the original movie take on VHS you could not get it in the US. The only place who had it was Austrailia. They love Transformers over there as much as the US. And the Canadians. To say that HASBRO has officially branded it, and HASBRO has no marketing going for it is... odd.
The whole thing sounds fishy from the start. Much like the Terminator Online game, which was a FTP with microtransactions and completely webbased and no shooting. Ripoff of my time.
Wtf?? I was completly agreeing with you until that odd statement lol o.o Not sure why Canada needed a special shoutout, we are basically the same country as USA (apart from a few laws).
Hate to break it to everyone though, but people are the same all around the world, there really are only so many types of people out there.. you'll still find the %^&holes no matter where you go, and also meet some nice ones, and so on (don't feel like listing off the millions of possibilities here).. the same can be said for fans of just about everything too.
Point is, we're all similar, there are people who hate, love, or no nothing about Transformers in NA too, same with pretty much anywhere in the world, place of origin doesn't change anything about how successful or not this game could be for them.
So let me get this straight. No US release. No Australian release. No European release. It's a freakin' Asian MMO developer, and there's no Asian release?!? Is there a purpose to this? It's almost as if (especially in the wake of War for Cybertron) Hasbro decided to prove, once and for all, that a Transformer MMO would suck and suck badly and therefore set out to make that a reality. Of all the bone-headed decisions I've seen made by upper management types, I'd have to say this ranks up there w/the NGE. *sigh*

Hmm not too sure about this ranking anywhere near the NGE debacle. Let me say first off if I was to read an article about a Transformers mmo I too would want it to be made by a well known reputable company and see it being developed in western markets. But what I think we need to consider is after two blockbuster films it doesn't seem like devs are yet beating down the doors at Hasbro to make a Transformer mmo in that case this can be a good thing because if this Asain gaming company can put this game in these almost non existent markets and actually turn a buck that would leave the door open for either a better dev or at the least a Western release.
If the press release listed Turbine,Blizzard, heck even Funcom,Cryptic, or SOE and it was not being released in the west I'd be bothered but considering who the dev is I only see this as a pre cursor to a possible western release of a Transformers MMO sometime.
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....
If done right, like every game, this could be awesome!
I always thought that an MMO based on Transformers would be cool. It could be set up so you can pick if you want to be land or air based when not in robot form. Then from there you play to become more notable and more visually distinguished from everyone else. So the higher level you are the more customized you look.

you know what's the problem with IP MMO? they tend to shit like hell, except a few, like AOC, SWG, LOTR
i will not say anything yet about this, but looks like it's not gonna make it
i mean, it's just not gonna compete with the likes of SWTOR, GW2, WoW, AOC, FFXIV, seriously
the only group that will play it is the Transformers fan boys
So What Now?

I was a HUGE Transformer freak groing up.
Upper Mongolia ALWAYS gets the good first releases. It's just not FAIR.

You guys shouldn't be mad that its only coming out in ... every other country... but the ones we want it to be coming out.
/rage at the fact that asians are making it. I mean really? I think Aion was the only semi-successful release from that side of the world lol.
Its gonna be like every other anime-style grind fast from 2003. We aren't missing out on anything!

Just what we need, more kids with machines. This will end up suckin' faster than STO.

I haven't even read anything. I jumped onto this board and clicked reply to say.
Just no.
