huh my teacher here at kahuku high was telling us about how former prez. clinton was the 7th best prez ever he went on about how he helped people in africa and started all these peace treaties and crap hmmm what you guys think?

I respectfully disagree with your teacher.
There are MANY Presidents above his administration (Clinton's)
Heck, if there were elections in 94, Clinton would have been voted out! If it wasn't for the Republicans taking congress and the Line Item Veto (proposed by Reagan, passed by gop to clinton), Clinton most likely would not have had a second term!
Frankly, I don't think you can classify presidents as the top 10 so easily..but you can classify the worst presidents easily. Jimmy Carter, just to name the worst.
*Back to my point, I disagree, and I'm not trying to start a flame war, please do not flame me for disagreeing either.
There are so many Presidents you have to consider before you can even get to Clinton!

No offense but i think your teacher must be smoking crack. Clintons eight years were filled with scandal, criminal activity that he and his wife managed to repeatadly wriggle out of,and outright lies. the only reason he even managed to finaly tell the truth about something is because it had his DNA on it.
the only reason he didnt do any jail time over white water is becasue he was the prez. seems funny that his partners in crime all did time for it. Oh and let your average person lie to the grand jury about anything and see where they end up. lets see he lied to the american public about his extra marital affairs. Oh but some people say"duh i want a prez that can sit back smoke a joint(no im not saying he was high at the time it refers to his "i didnt inhale phase") while getting a BJ duh" this just shows the intelligence level of the average clinton supporter.
in short i also disagree with your teacher.

Have to agree with you on all of those guys Murt. All of them were magnificent Presidents who lead our country when we needed it the most. Unlike most politicians, they cared more about what they believed was best for the country instead of trying to gain more votes or worry about their own reputation.
I would have to disagree with your teacher too. The scandals that took place in the administration were some of the low points in the history of the United State's presidency. The President is supposed to be our nation's representative to the rest of the world and he didn't really give off all that great of an image. I don't want to start going any farther then that otherwise we'll have another one of these political flame wars.

Clinton soars before both of them on my list, and Kennedy is at the top.

In his 1982 state of the union address, Reagan mentioned that he had inherited the worst economy since the Great Depressions, he proposed a 3 year tax rate reduction designed to stimulate the economy and create jobs, and he proposed a plan to reduce government spending.
By his 1987 state of the union address, Reagan had created 13 million new jobs, inflation had gone to the lowest it had been in 25 years (below 3%) *was at 12.4% when he took office* and interest rates were cut below half of what they were upon his taking office (21%) 61% of those 16 and older were now part of the work force.
he did all this while keeping pace with the soviet union!
That's just off the top of my head, Reagan did way more than that. You have your post screwed up there bud...do a little bit more research before you post things like that.
Kennedy at the top? Before he left he proposed a plan that he was appluaded for, yet Reagan was critizced for just 20 years later.

See I still dont' think you understand. JImmy Carter left Reagan the worst economy since the great depressions, things had to be done. If it wasn't for Reagan, you probably would not have had the rights to bash him like that becuase we would be under Soviet Rule, or America's economy would have collapsed long time ago. What you need to do is go back and study and see WHY he took away mental hospitals, and why the debt went up. He was saving the nation. And when it comes to saving the nation, extreme measures have to be taken.
