when *I* think about it
I fell in love with WoW when I first started my character because it honestly had a sense of being born into a new world. New logic, new things, no real guidance (I remember running my lvl 3-5 into lvl 20 area crying my eyes out for some random person tell me where I should be) - the word used is immersion.
Unfortunately everythings been covered. Every type of immersion has been created - if they copied it they would just polish old rules.
But if they used a virtual reality system.. idk maybe if they used glasses connected to a usb port and it actually gave you the sensation of being in a FP mindset - oh yeah i guess they could have headphones on them too (forgot about sound) - THAT to me is next gen.
Don't know if third person could work with virtual reality.. ehm..
definitely would stir up the RL media

Those glasses or headgear can get uncomfortable when worn for moderate period of time. I actually have a pair of shutter glasses for 3D and it was great when it worked with the various games but it also gets tiring easily.
hmm.. that may be closer to the truth (considering the latest avatar / 3d craze)

Nah there is nothing next-gen about it.The gear has been on the markt for more then 10 years but it did not survive beyond the hype.Their still is a lot of VR gear being developed and sold for the consumer just google it and you will find specialized shops selling them.It also works with just about any game that lends itself to the concept even MMO' s like AoC or WoW since they have a FP view.
No need for any dev.to actively support VR, it already works ,you only need to buy it.
