They are people that do not work, that do not go to school, that HAVE NO LIFE, that all they do is play MMORPGs all day long, power-leveling and become better than everyone else.
That's not unfair, trust me. They will just die from a heart-attack like what happened to a few people in Japan. People that died in front of their PCs or in Cyber-cafes cause all they did was play games all day, drink coffee (or high-caffeine beverages) and ate chips
I played EQ for over 4 years and one of the guilds I was in had a little 'competition/test' to see what was the fastest they could level a character, long story short the fastest time was a character to 65 in less than 6 days and the group that did it said it wasn't that hard. That being said EQ has a much harder/longer level grind than WoW and they were able to do it in less time, ...does my point make any sense?... not really, but you can't complain about power leveling because in all actuallity does it directly or inderectly affect how much fun(or how little) you will have in a MMO? the answer to that one is No.
Also what little road blocks that the devs try to implement to stop/slow down power gamers are always viewed as irrelevent and needless because most of the time they affect all of the community not just that minority that tag teams or overdoses on caffine. As well no one player playes an exact incremental set time per day per week per year because RL always steps in and dictates how much time you truely have to waste or how much you are willing to waste, so setting a variable to attempt to slow down people who play constantly or to slow down that person who just happened to find enough time to set aside for the game so that he is hit with a road block or some other game mechanic that abstructs his enjoyment of a game he spent so much time setting money/time and energy aside for just because some people feel that 'No One' should level "too fast" to me seems ridiculously absurd.

Originally posted by Neas hehe i find this hilarious :)i think this is a good thing. eventually the powergamers will accept that WoW isnt a powergamer game. Its for casual players. Powergamers are gonna burn out... best be without them if you ask me. People who play mmorpgs 15+ hrs every day like these guys are well retarded and not very social in real life so i doubt they got social skills in game.I lvoe the fact i can get to 40 in 3 months playing a few hrs a day :P.Beta Tested: Lineage 2, Ryzom, City of Heroes, RYL, EverQuest 2 World Of Warcraft European Truly Loved: World of Warcraft
exactly its gonna be so funny when all the power gamers go around with scowls on their faces becuase for all the hard work they put in they got no where. i cant wait to see that.

in EQ when it released like fuking 6 years ago, when someone hit 50 everyone that knew about it said "congrats man, i'll get there when i can"
in wow when someone gets high lvl everyone on the forums says "they have no life, losers, retards, socially enept (sp?), more than 1 person playing, he sucks"
guys, quit hating someone because they have more time to play a game than you do
he might be a loser, who knows, and why should you care? i think its great that ppl are smashing through the lvls ( i got 30 in the first 4 days or so, even w/ servers crapping on themselves)
Originally posted by Greyinnam i've noticed something.... i in wow when someone gets high lvl everyone on the forums says "they have no life, losers, retards, socially enept (sp?), more than 1 person playing, he sucks"
While I do agree that people should not all people retards and such for obtaining lvl 50, I have to be somewhat interested in knowing Why someone would want to level that fast.
I almost, in a way, feel sorry for anyone who makes 50 lvls in a week and a half. Because
1. If it's a kid, his parent are irresponsible for letting him play "hookie" for a week and a half lol 2. If it's a college student, his fall semester has just been shot. 3. If it's an adult, he probably just lost his job 4. If he's married, he probably now have marriage issues
The only way I would see this as somewhat normal behavior is if the guy is a single adult who used his 2 weeks vacation to powerlevel himself into glory.
Other than that, all I see is irresponsibility for real life. Like I said, only my opinion, but 50 levels in a week and a half is a little "over the edge"

Or he is like me and is permantly disabled, and has nothing better to do but become one with his computer
On another note, is it a good thing you can max out in a mmorpg in under a week or 2? What does that say about content? Of course most of blizzards past games you could beat under a week before going bnet for more gaming. Do you think this may be the future for most mmorpgs?

hmm good point..I forgot about the permanently disabled one...I have a good friend who is disabled..so I feel like crap for missing that one. Sorry
But for your other note, I do agree...maxing out your character within the first 2 weeks is never a good thing (the bragging rights only lasts so far). If it is the future of mmorpg gaming i sure hope they make it cheaper

Little OT but... Johnark you have the COOLEST sig!
Back to the thread, I too feel sorry for these people and like was pointed out already, they will get to level 60 months ahead of everybody else and who is going to go on raids with them then? I want to raid soo bad, infact I have yet to go into my very own instance (only level 16 but should get to VC soon...) and I am enjoying every minutes of playing. This is the perfect game for the casual gamers like myself who over the years have grown up and are unable to play like we did back in UO (8-10 hrs a day). I play for the love of the game!

Hmm, I qualifie for alot of the above No gf, I look forward to 6 months of payed un-emlpoyment due to a physical inability after getting hit by a car. Now all I miss is a copy of the Game I can play (Swede with no CB-account) But still I doupt I'd be higher than around lvl 25, if that. During 2 weeks of US Ob I got one Avatar to lvl 25 (1 lvl 9, 1 lvl 5 and 2 lvl 1)

i mean... after u rolled a char.. and maxed it out in a week, a mmo is all about beeing able to play for months or even years...
so if u now play that way these guys do, u will be able to roll every char and finish the game in less then 2 months, so why not just go with a single playing game then?!
thats just a good way to completly destroy the whole feeling of a mmorpg..
DING!! he's officially 60, now he'll just have to wait 2 months for more 60's to do endgame dungeons/raid content. Joke's on him IMO. Course he'll probably sell it to some lamer who thinks grinding WoW is a big deal... (no flames i wow)
More likely he powerleveled to get the upper hand in PvP

that is so sad
He'll be on the official boards within a week with a 2 page analyse of why the game has no content for the higher level users and why it is lame for people to lvl only to hit a lvling roadblock.
He has to have a roommate or two sharing his account...either that or he doesn't need sleep or physical social-interaction
Or he planned on it from the get go to sell it on Ebay for 1,000 USD and then buy the game again to play it at a regular pace with a new class. Blizzard should keep their eyes on ebya with this guy

Saw a level 35 in EQ2 today... that is, IMHO, pretty sick too.
why do anyone even WANT to play that intense?
