Hello everyone,
i've been reading alot about FF XIV, and it really looks like something i'd like to play, i had an older FF on the gamecube which i also really liked.
i just have one question tho, does final fantasy has any form of pvp? and i don't mean duels with that...
or is the game pve only

Its going to be PvE only at release, but they are going to add sports like PvP mini game later. Don't expect to get anything of value out of it though.
Its all still pretty vague...
All FF MMOs are built with PvE in mind as the forefront. PvP doesn't exist but only in the form of small dueling/one arena type action. You have to go to a specific place (at least in FFXI) to participate.
Since probably 98% of this game is dedicated only to PvE, classes are NOT BALANCED for dueling and PvP. So if you get into the fighting there, don't expect fair fights as there will probably be a class that will own everyone (when I played that was NIN/RDM, dunno what the class is now that wins)
There will be none of that PvP in FFXIV at launch at all, period. If they do put it in, it will be afterthought they settle the game down, put in all the classes they plan (not all are releasing with launch) and get all the questing locked down properly.
If you're looking for PvP, I'd suggest GW2/SWTOR and the like.

They will add PvP mini games that are generally in the spirit of uniting or mending relations between the three nations. Something like knights in the middle ages who competed in stuff like jousting. Just kind of fun PvP mini games. No open world PvP or anything like that.
FF online games are made for PvE.
