Bugged downloader

in Final Fantasy XIV

Uhhh, i'm not sure what Exe I use to start downloading it, Ive tried ffxiv booter, and ffxiv updater, and neither work? Help?

 

Booter just goes to a small black dos/cmd prompt like screen, and stops working. And updater does nothing

    i maybe having the same exact problem as you.  i am getting that same black pop window and then another window saying the beta isnt downloading correctly or something like that.  i would like to know too if anybody else is having this problem

    Should be ffxivboot.exe.  You may be able to see what went wrong by opening up Event Viewer (a windows utility) which allows you to see error logs.  I think the place in there that you want is "windows logs/application.  Look for a line that starts with Error and has a time stamp corresponding to the time when the app failed.  You might be able to see what failed.

    I checked the Event Viewer, and it didn't show all too much. Some memory addresses I don't understand =/

    Look for a filename in there.  Then google it.

    Found nothing. Any suggestions?

    Try running the file as administrator
