Physical ratail copy of Assault on Balaurea anyone?

malefacusmalefacus Member Posts: 135

ok, I am more and more into trying Aion. But I want the retail copy with the physical disc, cause I am always formating my PC 2-3 times a year, and I won't be donloading 12-14 gig of aion each time, that is half my bandwith for a month...

But, I live in canada and it seems like it's impossible to find a retail copy of Assault on Balaurea here, EBgames told me octobre 1st, but even then, they are not sure if they are gonna get it. Every other store i tried nobody seems to know what was going on and they all thought they would never get it. I read somewhere that assault on balaurea was like a re-lauch of Aion for NCsoft, am I the only one who still buy physical disc game?

Now I wonder, did they print it at all? Was it available in the states? Has anyone bought a retail copy of AoB somewhere in the world?

Please confirm this.

Thx.

I thought Assault on Balaurea was a free expansion, so I suspect you will not be able to find it in a retail store.

You could always back up your Aion folder to a portable hard drive or some other media to save on your download bandwidth.

if you format your pc this many times maybe it´s time to get an external HD so yo u can keep big important files, or make partitions one for working, 1 for gaming and 1 just to store shit, for example.

    now: GW2 (11 80s).
    Dark Souls 2.
    future: Mount&Blade 2 BannerLord.
    "Bro, do your even fractal?"
Recommends: Guild Wars 2, Dark Souls, Mount&Blade: Warband, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

The AoB copies do exist, they were given out at PAX I believe.  But you might have to wait awhile to find a copy of it.  But if you just buy the normal aion, AoB is a free expansion, so you would just need to patch up from that disc, and it will be exactly the same.

Confirmed, there is a physical retail copy available. I was at the gaming store just yesterday and was taking a look at it.

    Google.com ftw.....

You can order it in like any online store and get the box send to you.

You realize I live in Canada? Every online store I tried will redirect you to a canadian version of their store and then kapout!, no copy availble here. But at least I know it exist somwehre. But will it make it here? Seems like it's very baldy distribute.

If you already have the game installed you don't need to do any more than to log into the game and wait for a longer than normal update. You don't have to buy anything to get this expansion.

If, however, you are new to the game, you can buy the new version of the box so that you don't have to update all the way from v.1.0. The store box is simply the new packaging so that new buyers can get going faster and get a couple of free pets.

If you really want the pets however, and you don't want to spend in game kinah for them and the online store ones don't appeal to you, well you can buy the box and use the code just to get the pets on your account. $40 for pets, ouch but you can do that if you choose.

But you don't need to pay anything to access the new zones or levels.

    All die, so die well.
