Is there any roleplay in-game?

Greetings,
can any of the cats that are playing FF14 tell me how the RP (roleplay) is?
Is there any serious RP going on, or are there dedicated RP servers? I'd like to try FF14, but have no interest at all in testing just another MMOG which would best leave out the "RP" between their "O" and the "G".
I know that if 95% of the population regard me queerly if I act and speak in-character this game is not for me.
Any thoughts or recommendations?

Population is still settling out on different servers and players recently voted Besaid as role playing server. Not any serious roleplaying yet but it will start soon. So if you want to join a RP guild i suggest my server is best for you.
As mentioned above Besaid would be a good choice for roleplay.

In beta there was nothing even close to representing roleplaying, I did get asked twice if I wanted "to cyber."
There are no rp servers but rp'ers always pick an unofficial one.
That said, my old FFXI role-playing guild decided that there wasn't enough of a game to constitute leaving FFXI for FFXIV.
On the bright side, there is soooo little content to the game that you are going to have to have a pretty vivid imagination to give yourself motivations for what you do(kill x number of rats)...so maybe that counts, in some way.
I'm pretty sure that in a month's time, the playerbase(even the ones that hate role players) will embrace the most roleplayer'y person out there as the drop in subscribers from 'free included month' to 'I have to pay for this garbage?' will be rather large.
It is a question about roleplay not the gameplay as a whole itself. We have now literally hundreds of topics with all pros and contras to the content and arguments. So could we pelase stop arguments like that and stay on the topic, because like in all threads startsa troll outrage?. Only one time please?
No roleplaying that I have seen. I did see Barrack Obama and John McCain in game the other day,
Hmm hey didsee that Barrack Obama as well. Sadly people with 'creative and clever' names seem to be everywhere these days in MMORPGs.
Aside of that I met a roleplay group on my travels by a campfire it was quite nice.Oh and some other by just grouping and normal conversation. The main trick in that game proably is to search active and/or to get into a roleplay linkshell.
