i hope world of darkness has this certain feature to the game.

my girlfriend and all her friends would be interested in world of darkness if it has some reference to twilight, seeing as they are a huge fan of it. I hope CCP can help out.

im sure they would get a huge influx of female gamers to mmorpg.

Well, here's one female they will lose if they do something that stupid.  I have to assume this is a troll, though.

no its just recently they were talking about the world of darkness in a conversation, and i thought that would be a good idea to lure more female gamers into mmorpg. What do you guys think? good idea bad idea and why?

If I'm not mistaken, vampires that can be out and about in the daylight is NOT part of the lore for this gaming world. I believe it's traditional in the sense that sunlight = crispy vampire.

Well depending on the source of the lore, the age of the vampire determines the amount of time they can last in the sun. Rice lore also has it so that all of said vampires progeny burn while it is in the sun. On a side note I watch "Revenge of the Nerds" last night, great movie!

It is a horrible idea because they would lose the core fanbase that follows WoD or V:TM.  This game was around long before Twilight and it already had tons of lore to base the MMO off of.

No, no , hell no, what the fuck? and no.

I'm not sure what I hate more.  Twilight having the concept that the reason vampires avoid sunlight is because they glitter in it or True Blood's pussified version of werewolves.  They both suck.

I think glittering vampires win out though because well...it's so cheesy its actually comical.

OP you get an 8/10 from me.  Hehe, I know there are some WoD fans that are staring angrily at their monitors right now and simply don't want to give in.

    Hahaha

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

"I'd rather sell vampires to disaffected former Twilight fans rebelling against some of the ideas they're a little bit over now but still kind of interested in "vampires, but for grownups."

This might not be the year for that, of course, but it's a plan that lets us sell vampires we're interested in."

Lol...you could be on to something here.  Imagine the money they could make if instead of glittering hot white you could make your vampire shine pink or even green!

    Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Nah, forget Twilight, no sparkly vamps. Blade. Hmmm, yes if movie references are made lets have Blade references instead. Lots of swords, and severed heads and staked out nightclubs, literally. That's more like it.

I dont care what goes into this game, as long as the remember to add one feature ...FUN something most game companies are forgetting to put into MMO's lately

The WoD lore they're using, V:TM is quite clear. No sunlight, with the odd exception of 14th or 15th generation "thin bloods" who can survive low light around sunset and sunrise.

So no, "Twiglet" is a no go.

Oooh, that'll be good. You'll lose all the World of Darkness fans (because they despise Twilight) and you won't get any Twilight fans (because it's not Twilight).

Actually, I believe there's abilities in the Fortitude discipline that allow the vampire to go out in the daylight. There's a limit to how far it can be pushed, and it still involves considerable pain, though. And needless to say, he doesn't sparkle.

Well actually since Fortitude downgrades aggravated damage to lethal a vampire could use it to be out in the sun... For a very short time...

And WoD Vampire glitter in sunlight... very briefly... then the embers fade.

And the OP is a troll.

This have been a good conversation

World of darkness is a brutal place there is no room for rainbow coulored vampiers that glow like faries in the sun

I happen to like V:tM AND Twilight. Sue me. I would like there to be more females playing also.

Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.

    Indeed, keep the blood flowing...

Though I'm sure there will be plenty of screeching teen girls joining this game...

And well, 'Bill Compton' from true blood got to be quite the sex symbol as well.
