Ok, I expected it to be bad but not quite that bad.
Yeah, they even gave it a 4.0. And I don't know how much it would affect SE's reputation.

Well, when you start to think about it, SquareEnix has been on a downswing for a while now. They really haven't released a universally accepted classic since Final Fantasy X, though I personally loved XII.
5.7 User score not to far off from their score, I also agree with the guy above, I haven't really enjoyed any of their games since XII and that imo was only decent.
I have to agree with them, it isnt good. Look out......here come the ass comments in response.
All those fanboi's out there that bitched and moaned when we even hinted that the game might not be good should be eating there words by now.

Haha, not that there is much news here for everyone who followed the forums for this pile of garbage but it's accurate to the tee regardless. Good Job.

True, XII was awesome and after that all downhill like the other guy said. This is a wake up call for me too I guess, I was dissappointed at SE for XIII and now for XIV I don't know what to think about SE anymore.

Spot on review. Game is poor indeed in its current state. No wonder SE put a 3 week embargo on reviews. SE knows they messed up.

Yeah, I guess you're right. We all saw this coming seeing all the problems the game have now, I'll just use up my free 30days and wait for a "Miracle" Patch. If they don't do something, I'll forget about SE as my number 1 Company of making RPG games since I was a kid.

12 was good, but it was like 5 years since 10 when that came out and I think they just got lucky with it. Everything else the last 9 years has been pretty sad.
Now I really don't feel bad for cancelling my CE edition but I am kind of disappointed that SE failed so miserably because FFXI was so good. I did go buy Fallout: New Vegas instead though so all is not lost!
the review is spot on. SquareEnix should be ashamed for attaching the name Final Fantasy to this mess.
This was the web site review I've been waiting on. Generally, Gamespot has rarely let me down in regards to their reviews and they mostly see things eye to eye with me as far as game reviews go.
I figured, from everything I read on this site, that GS was probably settle in at 6-ish..but a 4. WOW.
Too many other good ones coming down the pike, not to mention cool things coming to EVE to bother babysitting this turd. I'll pass. It has been entertaining watching some of those that pissed their money away on this constantly scour the forum in order to engage in 'damage control'. But it's a turd folks. Enjoy it if you want.

I actually agree with a lot of his points, especially economy wise. But I just laugh when people bitch about not being able to work the UI/controls. Hey want to do anything to do with the fucking interface? press the fucking home key. done. not that hard.
Honestly, I think a 4 is a bit harsh but the interface really is horrible crap. You learn to work around it or use a controller then it's largely moot... but it is fricking horrible. Still enjoy the game though (well once I got a controller.)

Odd, since the fanboy's said people like me were trolling and most of these issues weren't that bad. And by people like me, I mean people who had pre-ordered the game with hopes it would be at least decent, and then jumped off the sinking ship before launch. Every other MMO I have ever CHOSEN to play I was entertained for at minimum a month or two. FF14 had me bored from the first moment til the last day I tried. It was just... so... BORING...
The pace is one thing I really don't mind, its a nice change from eq2/wow speed. Shrug.
