    I don't care about the MO2 thing. . that is in another thread.  Aside from textures and some fixes I don't see how this will hold subs much longer.  A lot of people in the MO forums have clearly said they stopped playing since they were waiting for this patch. . when they log in. . it might look prettier. . but it is mostly going to be the same game.  

     

    The month following this patch and the content released in the next 2 months or so will truly tell the story of how much this patch has "allowed" them to do.  I might resub though just so I don't get tempted to resub to other games that will bore me to tears.

     Perfectly described.  And might I add that people like YOU are the target audience of this "Epic/MO2 patch".  The roughly  23,000 who bought the game but stopped playing.   SV needs to attract folks like YOU back into the game.   Whether this patch does it for them or not... remains to be seen... but it should be interesting next week!

    Can anyone direct me to screenshots of the upgraded visuals? New textures and speedtree? I really did feel the characters and environment to be very noisy and rather bland during beta, but if this improves the visual quality of the game, good for them.

    i guess they hold it back till monday and will bring further infos within the webside update.

    Couldn't have said it better myself.

    What I am trying to say though is this patch was what they wanted to launch the game with but they were essentially dicked around with dodgy code from EPIC that was updated in this patch.

    This is the foundation, the next 2 months will tell if they can add the content.

    They've got the box, now they need the sand.

    polls like that indeed doesnt tell much.. for example 19 ppl in the guild im in has signed up for resubbing and none of those 19 ppl are included in that poll there.

    probably 50% of players hardly go to the forums and even less ppl even notice polls like these and even if they will doesnt mean they pur their vote there... i didnt.

    Myrimidon is returning.

    Los Banditos is making an official return, they were big before not sure if they'll be full strength. (Unknown but not any major LB players in that list)

    Inactives from several currently active guilds are returning.

    To sum it up, it's unsure for how long these people will return but A LOT of the old crew will be back and playing MO. Then they will advertise and offer a trial in the near future and the population will spike again.

    Sweden is not a socialist country, in any way. We have a right-wing goverment atm (they've been in office for the last 4 years and was recently re-elected), and the social democrats have been leaning heavily to the right for the last 25 years - meaning they're more similar to Britain's Labour Party than to any real socialist ideology.

    It's obvious you haven't played this game in months.  Magic is now aimed based.  The moon system works were as you can now see very well at night, except on those rare nights when the moon is "new moon" moon phase.  There are no mortal online bots.  The simple full loot pvp nature of the game prevents this.  Skill point system is not the same as Darkfall they never advertised it this way, your failure to research the game before you bought it lyes on you.  

    Cheating in this game was never rampant.  3rd party hack programs stopped working very quickly after release.  While in Darkfall there are still working 3rd party hack programs with thousands of active users.  Maybe you enjoy trying to compete with players who macroed cheated there stats up in Darkfall, but most of us don't.  

    Ultimately while this Epic patch is brining in tons of new players and  resubbers it will make the game to your liking.  The new patches enhanced graphics, pve mob ai, and better overhaul pvp combat system is yet another huge improvement to a game that has patched and improved at a fast and furious pace since it's launch just 4 months ago.  

    From what I'm reading from your post it seems like World of Warcraft would be a better game for you.

    Returning, I stopped playing due to the bad PvE with no nav mesh and the fact I've recently moved into University. (Can't be anti-social for the first few weeks!)

    In this patch we've got a few things that will make huge differences to general gameplay;

    1.) Huge optimisation and performance increases meaning larger battles will take place even smoother now

    2.) Navmesh will fix my person complaint with MO as it stands today, we've seen the higher-up mobs in beta and we'll see them again very soon. Interesting PvE is interesting.

    3.) The polation system will improve combat ten fold combined with a screendragging fix. PvP was already extremely good in MO, it was these two issues that made it frustrating at times.

    Something they had in beta is finally able to be used in the game.  It is very possible that MO using Atlas was their biggest mistake. . I get that it might have been their only option but it seems to have crippled them almost too much.  

    I hope they get that fixed and I will be back.  If the 3 things you listed all work out then I am in.  As long as that is followed up by some fairly regular releases of new content I will stay.  Guess I will find out next week.

    navmesh is really necessary and im glad it is in this build maybe not for all creature around. AI in MO is functionally but blind as said many times before. Try to draw a weapon and run around them and you will see all of them become aggresive and attack you and that without navmesh. :P

    Really nice news! I can't wait start playing this patch today (or tomorrow if it comes late today)! 

    Devs have said that they will add more to the patch notes today and also write in more details about what this new Epic engine will do for MO! 

     

    Camera follow the bouncing head, fishes, gfx, overhead swing, Speedtree, high res, interpolation stuff, better AI, lots of important fixes and balances and much more .... NICE!

    In an attempt to get this thread back on track, the new build patch is due out today, though there hasn't been any word from SV on when.

    Yes I will give SV credit for one thing. . they are consistent. . when it comes to releasing things at the final hour of they day :)

    I would expect a day or two of downloading, a few hotfixes after that and by Thursday we should know how this looks.

    From what I remember, the last few times they pulled something like this off, the one-man-army QA guy Christian curled into a fetal position and cried himself to sleep after he spent hours begging them not to release. :))))

    Entertainment seems guaranteed. :)

    im sorry to dissapoint you, but kranesh will get with the new patch an overhaul and in this screenshot it is the old like usual.

    and beside that if you look behind kranesh at the mountains it looks horrible , that is definatly not MO it is a very good work of photoshop or something like that.
