How are the EU servers doing?

I've got a free copy of Aion: AOB sitting on my desk @ home, and I'm almost afraid to open it. (after the FFXIV fiasco)

If I were to sub to the game again (played first free month @ launch) I'd be starting again over from scratch, so would this be even feasible to essentially new players like myself?

I'd played on Perento originally, so this would be my first choice as its apparently still the most populated Eu server - are there still plenty of newbies joining the game? I would definately join the Asmo side, since that faction would still all be fresh this time around.
