good try fanboi, thats an obvious fake poster, EA Louse would appear in blue and would link to the blog

your pathetic damage control attempt has failed just as hard as SWTOR is undeniably going to fail

good God I just do not understand people like this. You are so angry at this game for absolutely no reason, have you played it? Do you have extensive knowledge beyond everyone elses understanding? I didn't think so. You can have your opinion just fine, but an opinion is just that, an opinon. Because ONE blogger puts a few sentences in his blog to trash the reputation of the company that is FIRING him you take it as fact. He was fired, he obviously just wanted to destroy as much of EAs reputation as he could, and obviously by his lack of information given he knows probably as much about the game as we do. RELAX MAAAAN!

    You've confused me.

As much as I think SW:tOR is the most over-hyped MMO in the history of MMOs and expect it to do no where near as well as the fans think it will, I can not believe everything said in that blog.

For starters I highly doubt any company is crazy enough to spend 300 million on creating an MMO, the returns just aren't there. That exageration makes the rest of the blog very questionable.

What this does show me though is if I say I am someone on the inside and make a blog I can convince a large number of people about anything. Isn't that how the republican party works? Randomly saying things to the people crazy enough to believe it? (I'm sure that line will help expand this thread with some more rage from Palin fans).

Here is why i dont belive a word the louse said. Is alot of what he said about one particular persons release was refuted completly but that person. So if ud lie so completly about one point why should i believe anything u have to say.

I can understand for legal reasons doing this annonomously. I can understand for legal reasons using an alias to hid your true identity. What i dont understand is the person i hear from star wars the old republic the most is none of the people the louse mentons in his long long rant.

Really wanna discredit tor dont u think u should take shots at daniel erickson? Hes the guy everyone hears from. This guy is clearly a very upset employee lashing out. Legally even if hes tellign the truth saying who they are would get them in trouble due to confidentialtiy stuff. That said i think hes really hiding his identity because he knows he a big fat liar.

So ud have breach of contract and slander and liable to worry about. I know it could be a girl also but its clear this person is just a very upset and is lashing out trying to get even. I might of believed them if not for the fact on of his biggest points was completly shot down  by the person supposdedly harmed in his rant.

I can totally see how people looking forward to a game spending time on forum about that one game talking ideas, speculating and sharing information are completely worse than those who are just here to cause a ruckus with no interest or knowledge on the game. As for being crushed in court and crusified, the former may be correct, it can happen and I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

Tor is not even close to as overhyped as gw 2. All i hear about gw 2 is the are revolutionizing every aspect of mmos. Please. Thats why when they cant deliver on everythign people think is gonna happen gw 2 is gonna have a bigger backlash then tor.

There  is no way they can compltely revolutionize quests, crafting, and get rid of the trniity and do it right. This game is gonna have issues and its gonna fail and fall on its face badly.

I just dont see gw 2 pulling any of it off. They promise so much if they cant deliver the qq from the most overhyped game maybe ever is gonna be huge.

I can agree and disagree. I didn't like JTL, I don't like piloting at all really, and could care less how they did it. Sure they probably could have done better, but I was interested long before space was announced. Besides, as I said SWTOR isn't centered around space combat, so his little jab was a pretty bad attempt. I see the space combat as a little mini-game, and I'll treat it as one.

Except for the fact that GW2 has a huge amount of gameplay videos that actually show for the claims of Anet.....

ToR on the other hand. has at this moment close to nothing to show for the things Bioware claimes it to be. In fact the videos that are available, show bad animations, stale gameplay and very limited environnements.

So there you have it.  GW2's hype is based on actual proof, ToR's hype is completely based on promises by a succesfull and established developper. Wait a minute! Those last few words sound very familiar. Something with Mythic...and war....and awesome promises and....oh yeah....no delivery on those promises.......

I won't get into GW2 because I think it looks boring as hell and this isn't the place to discuss it. BioWare has shown practically everything they said the game would have. The animations have improved greatly after watching the newer videos, stale gameplay? Explain, you haven't played it, so you can't. And limited environment? You can't prove anything you say. Surprise me. How you ask? Prove something for once. Good luck.

It is good to know that there a few sane people left on these forums. Really, I have no hate for this game, I do not like what I have seen so far, but no game is for everyone. However I'm really surprised by all these raging fanbois who do not want to listen to any reason at all. It is like they were never there with the whole WAR fiasco:

It was the developer of the awesome and much praised game DAoC,

They promised the most awesome things for WAR,

They never showed any gameplay regarding those promises,

They never delivered on any of those promises.

I'm not saying ToR will fail, I just do not have blind faith anymore since my experience with the above. I would have thought  that with the WAR fiasco people would be a little more reserved with their expectations, but these fanbois seem to be different people than the WAR fanbois and are completely clueless. That means that there must be milions more of them :| Where are they coming from?

Really, you ask me to prove something yet you offer no proof for your own bold statements either.... :S

I admit I might have not seen the latest videos, as I do not know about any new videos since the ones I saw a few months back. From those videos the gameplay looked very stale and boring. I am aiming at those playthrough videos were you see Jedi's swinging lightsabers at oneanother. I do not need a full onhand experience to get an idea of the gameplay, that is were gameplay videos are for. In those videos I only saw very small limited enverionnements. None of the big landscapes that Bioware has claimed to be in the game. If you do have a video, I would really like to see it cause that would make me less worried.

Really I would like to see you prove the following statement: "BioWare has shown practically everything they said the game would have". uuhm, ye maybe if you mean VO since that what they have been talking about a lot. But Bioware claimed that this will be a full blown MMO and so far I have not seen anything that proves that. And I'm clearly not the only one with all the ' wrong' ideas people have of this game as a SRPG with chatbox elements (not my words).

I must say you're reaction towards me seemed quite hostile. I have no means to bash TOR, I just go by what I see.

    Fair enough...image

But I have a Guild full of folks who wanted to see better Space content...All Star Wars Fans...All excited as hell about the Game...All disappointed cause we very much liked JTL...We had a massive Guild in SWG and a very large Space program...4 full squadrons with a bunch of Gunships...It was a blast...We're all still going to play, but we also feel BioWare could have done better...There's plenty of people out there who wanted more than a mini-game...I don't think BioWare had any intention to implement Space content until they realized a decent part of the community wanted it REAL badly...Then they just half-assed it...This is why his jab IS valid to some of us who think if BioWare is capable of messing up Space combat what else are they capable of messing up? It's a question that to me is quite valid...Just because you don't care about it does not mean the arguments are not valid...There has been hundreds of pages of discussion on the SWTOR Forums about Space content...It may not be relevant to you...But it is relevant...As is the question of whether or not this game is going to live up to the hype...I for one hope it does...But I'm not willing to assume that just yet...image

Take a device that transforms MMO hater rage into green energy, and you'll be able to light up a city for decennia.

Their obssessive ranting and hate venting can be music in the ears of a more objective audience, it's pretty funny from time to time image

Admittedly, other times it's just annoying.

    Same goes for blind hatred.

People should use more common sense and be aware that as good as everything is speculation until a game launches.

Personally, I prefer discussing a game I'm interested in with people that can be enthusiastic about a game while still being able to see flaws or dislikes in it, than people who've made it a habit to keep ranting about a game they've out of a gut feeling decided to hate or passionately dislike.

    Would be happy to.

Just compare the animations to older videos.

That means that there must be milions more of them :| Where are they coming from?

And how are you not a GW2 fanboi with the praise you have given that game.

It still amazes me how people still think somehow that Bioware has done or is doing something underhanded and not being forthcoming with TOR.

They have done exactly what they said they were gonna do from the beginning. They have showed and went into detail about the game that they felt was 100% gonna be in the game and was at a level of polish that meets their standards.

Of course the people that are sorely disappionted that TOR is not SWG2 have jumped on this whacked out disgruntled blogger that seems to be nothing more than a piss ant that has a axe to grind with Mythic. He even mentioned that he had no inside knowledge of TOR and it is plain to see that he only mentioned it because Mythic merged with Bioware.

That being said, why wouldn't Bioware be proud of the VO and story that will be in the game. It is something that has never been done to this extent before in any mmorpg. Adding that plus all the other systems that every other AAA mmo has will make this game stand out from the rest, and from what people have said who have played it, the game is fun even without being able to hear a single sound.

I haven't purchased a game I didn't like, I don't need to learn anything. You on the other hand can keep practicing at it. :P

I must say you're reaction towards me seemed quite hostile. I have no means to bash TOR, I just go by what I see.

    Yawn.

You go by what you see and your gut feeling tells you, while others go by the info and footage available and reports from playtesters who played early versions of the game and demo.

Besides, if you want to carry on with delusions that SW:TOR is a SRPG - frankly, that's the one argument that uninformed posters use that I find most hilarious - then you should take it up into the sticky thread that's already there for.

Apparently the mmorpg.com mods got annoyed enough to create a thread specific for that discussion image
