I can think of my norn smashing his face in.
Actually my first thought when I see that is "OMG FLEAS!!! " I hope they fixed those things.. we wouldn;t want mini ones running around.. though Froggy might.
I think they should re-model the race to look like this

Nop, I want my lovely popori in my game only.
I will start as sylvari. They dont look silly and their background is like a mix of borg and children discovering the world.
Rumor has it that the Sylvari are undergoing a makeover. There may be a fresh race reveal for them in the future because their appearance seemed to leave many yawning. Nothing official on this though; not a peep.
I will chose an Asura surely after that a charr or a sylvari.
I can't really answer that. Only that it isn't an Asura (hate the small buggers).
I will remake my human ranger since the game is saving the old names for the people who played them. But I also want to try out the new races, I probably play the 10 first levels with everyone 'cept Asura but different classes and see what character I like best.
I usually pick 3 or 4 races and classes in a game and play them a little to find the one I like best but since there is only 5 and I know I don't want 1 I will try everyone.
I will have a human ranger. I think I do one of those plant things as a Ele and the 2 others are undecided yet. Maybe a Norn Warrior, depend on the last 4 classes.
I do like rangers but I suspect they are a bit too dependent on the pet in this game. And I really can't decide race or class until I at least tried them a little.
Human Female Elementalist
My plan for guild wars II is to turn a PvP only character that became one of my favorite characters of all time into a PvE character. I want to "continue" her roleplaying and nice little adventure.
Of course I cant wait to make a Charr and go Ungabunga on everyones ass. I hope they have enough pointy sticks in that game to keep the natives and all of creation happy. ^_^
(depending on the not announced classes) i'll have 2 mains;
human elementalist - for pve; story, dungeons, dynamic events
charr warrior - for pvp; WvsW, gvsg
elementalist could be changed to mesmer, warrior could be changed to "bigger weapon wielding class"
I need more vespene gas.
My 1st toon will be Human Male Warrior.
Always loved melee and I want to check out Divinty's Reach . I am more interested in developing personal story with the human race.
2nd toon I am torn between the Norn or the Charr inclined more towards the Norn though. Shape shifter Norn might turn out to be simply awesome.

Interestingly, Asura and Sylvari are still not completely finished in the looks department, so anyone who likes their story/background should see some nice improvements (hopefully) before too long.
Damn, I'd like to see what's in that book, a lot.

Yes, this is exactly the chaos that ensues when you start allowing furries as playable races.. yea and the " furries" following you around with cheezy pick up lines.
Yea.. Like it wasn;t bad enough to have the creepy dudes dressed as girls stripping down to their undies telling you " but i am Lesbian trapped in a mans body". Nooo.. now I am going to have to deal with Charralarinas following me around claiming to be animal man lesbians.

so essentialy your saying anyone who likes to play non human characters has a sexual fixation with animals/animal like creatures. this is what i take offense to and what everyone here considers trolling

and also i never make fun of anyone with any medical condition just because maybe some fictional creatures were made up because of them doesnt mean that those creatures are used to make fun of those people anymore.
btw with the two definitions you have, they were TWO seperate definitions and altho they had something to do with eachother an anthropomorphic creature is not always a furry too, not here to fight but i realy dont like being generalized in such a fasion.

Yes, Fantasy is childish. It always has been that is why they call them " fairy tales" and they are usually classified as " childrens books". They do not move them to the adult section unless they contain "mature content".
Seriously though, If people feel that strongly about playing some cartoon animal, that they would take offense over harmless humor they have more issues to be concerned with than their furry fascination. LOL

Char are just mutant "Taurans" from World of Warcraft...look at them and read their discription. It's like they fell into pool of Fel Magik and were mutated into bad-arse, meat eating, killing machines, from the abyss.
I always thought of them as bull-demon-cats. The way they talk sounds lizardy. They are a pretty strange creature overall.
bah not worth continueing this argument after this one last statement im out of this thread. the way you used furry in a sentance confers the third meaning not the other two (a furry fetish using the first definition would be a "magical item" with furr on it the second would only work if i revered furry's which i do not... and of course the third does not apply, so uhm ya....)

(to keep on topic human will be my main as a descendant of my gw1 character then a asura cause i think their tech level and lore is inturesting and a sylvari because their alien personality seems inturesting)

Probably gonna start either with sylvari, asura or charr since norns (even they should totally rock in gw2 with all the different forms and skills) and humans doesn't interest me much.
Even though I'm thinking to recreate my necro as a human again so she can look similar to my gw1 one.
- charr as a archer I guess
- asura as mechanic (such a class will probably be added)
- sylvari as elementalist or necro in case I don't make a human necro.
Can't wait for the game.

The land north of Ascalon’s protective Great Northern Wall is occupied by a savage race of beasts known as the Charr.
To the Charr, flame is the physical representation of their gods. In order to keep the gods happy, they must first fulfill their obligation to the flame. To that end, the Charr have constructed a series of sacred buildings known as Flame Temples. On raised platforms, these bestial creatures have inscribed huge circular runes, which define and magically feed the sacred fires. Further defining the ring are pillars of pure obsidian or carved sandstone, sculpted to depict the faces of the mysterious creatures the Charr worship. Between these pillars, in the very center of each of these temples, are the ever-burning Sacred Flames. The Charr believe that as long as the flames are burning, the gods are pleased. If the flames go out, then the Charr have failed in their duties and will be punished by the gods.
Each temple has its own fire, which is tended at all times by four Charr Flame Keepers. The Flame Keepers have only one job—to keep the Sacred Flame burning. This is the most prestigious position a Charr can occupy; only the strongest, most capable Charr can take this honor, and all other Charr bow to the Flame Keepers.
RRacial Traits:
• The Charr have legions
• The Charr racial in Guild Wars 2 is having war machines
Since Guild wars 2 isn't out yet, guess we have to wait till release to do a better comparison. The taurans are bull creatures, and the charr are like cat goat things. LOL But I can see some simliarities. The charr for some reason remind me of clingons.. because they are aggressive and war driven, and not peaceful as the Taurens.
It should be noted, though. that Charr pretty much gave the finger to their "gods" and went all TECHNOLOGY IS AWESOME, LET'S HAVE SOME OF THAT.
