I know I do. Call it blind hope but for somebody who was around during both beta and the game's launch, a time when 500 man seige forces was to be expected and when pvp was bustling everywhere, I just refuse to give up on this game. Though my faith may be reassured by some of the dev contacts that most people did not have, I really feel like Tasos speaks the truth about DF2010 being a holy grail of sorts for the game.
If AV can just fix the game on a fundamental level, delivering all it has announced for the expansion and more, the game has hope yet of becoming a roaring success. With proper advertising (something AV has intentionally held off on till DF2010), and by announcing the introduction of fresh servers, Darkfall would gain a population that far surpasses what it had at launch.
In any case, here's to hoping that AV succeeds and is able to make DF2010 into the great relaunch they've had in there heads for the last two years (nearly all development since launch, aka the last 2 years, has been spent developing the 2010 expansion.)

nuclear terrorist here, probably going to resub for df2010 and see what has changed. the game still takes too much time and I'm too busy these days
I still think they'll miss DF2010, it might improve the game, but by no mean will it be the "holy grail" of some sort. Don't put too much hope or hype into DF2010 or you'll be badly disappointed. That being said, it has potential to change a few things, we'll see how it goes in 2011, if there's no delay.
Even if it will not tackel on all the issues it will tackle on (what some will calll) the "main issue", this is diversification and finding and fullfilling a role while not having invested much time to get there.

We can only speculate at this point. We know so little about this expac, and the information we know is just as vague as it can be.
They need to do something about the graphics, i thought i was in a timewarp when i tryed darkfall, felt i was playing Hexen and that must be atleast 15 years ago.
I don't have much faith that AV even understands the problems preventing this game from taking off. Still, I will give them another chance and resub when the expansion comes out. If it really does lower the barrier for entry, I will be happy. The game just requires too much time and commitment to accomplish anything as it is now... in my opinion of course.
I've still got faith that AV can deliver a good product. I don't know if or really believe it will magically address every single problem with the game, but I'm definitely hoping it fixes the major issues with the game.
I wish we had more information on it. Oh, and shouldn't we technically be calling it the DF2011 expansion now?
Current: None
Played: WoW, CoX, SWG, LotRO, EVE, AoC, VG, CO, Ryzom, DF, WAR
Tried: Lineage2, Dofus, EQ2, CoS, FE, UO, Wurm, Wakfu
Future: The Repopulation, ArcheAge, Black Desert, EQN
Honestly I do not know much about the upcoming expansion but unless it changes the game at it's core design, the game will never have 'large' audience.
Aventurine has chosen to make a game for very tiny audience and unless they change their stance and turn the game into more appealing for masses, it will never grow.
If they focus on improving the original design, it will make Darkfall players more happy but not necessarily more of them.
I just want my r50 nukes back. or something just as fun. r50's weren't OP..
Graphics and Gameplay are great...
Without caps the game will fail, no matter what they introduce with 2K10. New servers?...with transfers?.... not going to fix or bring new blood in.
yeah yeah. I've heard Darkfll was going to fail since befoe launch.
The reality is that it has not and is still going strong. Many of us enjoy the fgame as it is today and see it only improving move with time.
Lol? DF's populatation has done nothing but die off since launch. Df's pop. has been significantly less with each new expansion.
I dont have faith however there is a large difference when it comes to me.
I dont care...
The reason I dont care is because I like the game as it is. The latest expansion was a move in the backward direction but not a game changer for me.
Its a basic rule I apply to all games, if I dont like it, i dont play. As it turns out I like DF so I play. otherwise I would not.
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
Please do not respond to me
Uh, no, the population has been steadily rising for the past 6 months. That is both the feeling ingame and the official statement from AV.
Will definitely resub for df2010. I just hope 350ish HP cuts it these days.
Ever heard a PR say "Our subs are dropping quickly!".....that would be suicide.
Faith is for the religious, it has no place in MMORPG gaming.
Tasos has promised much in the past that didn't quite unfold the way the player base thought, so don't read too much into what he says (or does not say), better to wait and see what is actually delivered before getting your hopes up too high. (or dashed to pieces)
I haven't seen much info about an actual relaunch of the servers either, with the game population so small it would almost be the game's deathknell as it could alienate the current subscribers quite a bit (think SWG and NGE)
It would be nice to see DF succeed more (from a financial perspective), the MMO landscape needs more games that cater to the niche market and not to the greater casual gaming market.

I exspect DF2010 will be as much a let down as the past "Epic" patchs, which includes this latest one. I am a fickle ex-customer though who loves the game, but refuses to grind for months to be competitive.
If they launch new servers before the onslaught of new titles offering what looks to be interesting pvp, then perhaps I will get onboard from day one... if my attention is otherwise diverted and I miss launch day, I won't ever touch the game again. The grind kills the game that much..
But hey.. atleast the Devs and Vets are happy.
If they fix the time sink that is required for leveling and I can get a friend to play with, I'm going to try it out. I tried it once or twice. it got slightly more playable every time I tried it so I'm hoping this will be awesome.
I would play this game in a heartbeat if the macroing issue is addressed and they open a new server.
I DO !! i have my cousin and two friends ready to re subb and kick some ASS
ive played since launch and i missed the times there were huge sieges 150 vs 150 or more.. darkfall is still healthy and i cant wait until darkfall 2010 it will bring back alot of old players and with the free trial its helping darkfall recruit new players this game is great nothing like it. If you really love this game and want the population to increase we must help them advertise by word of mouth. I would love to bring back those good ole darkfall days.
Well really, I'm very doubtful. And, how long they take is important too. If they fixed it, but another game came out that I got hooked on beforehand, then it won't really matter to me. And, if it fails to bring back a population that actually fills the world, then , it won't matter to me either( small scale zerging is really not fun.)
I don't have any hope, not from what AV managed to design and implemted in last three "expansions". This project overwhelms them, they are just too slow and too afraid to add anything which would make DF something more then just a massive pvp game.
Not me I tried the game and honestly found it as fun as watching dog crap ferment on a hot day. They had some great idea's but their execution was sort of flawed in various ways.
"An MMORPG could be completely diffirent from WoW. Just look at games like Dofus, Wizard101 or EVE. But as it is, most of the Western MMOs are trying to succeed by out-WoWing WoW. It's like an army of 10 sports games made about same sports, and barely none about other sports. WoW clone is an accurate description of those games, it manages to convey much information with only two words."
