western MMO, I thought this way before Red dead came out but this really made me want it more, a western MMo would be awesome.

I know it isn't an "IP," but I want to see more than anything a developer that releases MMOS set in both Antiquity and in the Middle Ages... and not just some small, crappy little MMO, but a major release. I don't care what features that it has in order to make it good, I just want to be in the world as a hoplite or something and say "this is an amazing game."

Didn't read the rest of the thread but I wouldn't mind any sort of cyber-punk setting if I could get it.

    Mechwarrior would be choice too...

Of course there would be no classes as such however pokemon each have their own element(s) and speciality.

This, pokemon is perfect for an mmo, PvE is the generic gym badge hunt, trading is already covered, PvP is obvious - and the game already has PvP tournament set-ups... it just seems so obvious to me...

Mechwarrior, and it's cool to see all the support here for it.

Out of curiosity who owns the IP to Mechwarrior? Activision?

    O_o o_O

I personally would love to see a Robotech/Macross MMO.

I've always enjoyed the lore in that series and would be really happy to see a MMO set in that world. What fan wouldn't want to be a Veritech pilot or a Zentradi warrior.

Seeing how the IP is pretty old and not very popular anymore. I imagine it'll never find itself to MMO status.

Nice a Robotech mmo would be nice indeed I also wouldn't mind seeing a Mechwarrior mmorpg (which I don't think is really all that unlikely).

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

I'm almost certain it is owned by Microsoft now, I remember that from the last few mechwarrior titles released on pc, could be different now though.

They let it lapse, Tinker & Smith picked it up, FASA.

After some checking this is what I came up with:

    I can explain.

First off, FASA (Freedonian Air and Space Administration) created Battletech, Shadowrun, and Crimson skies three awesome table top games that spread around the world like wildfire.

This attracted game designers to make a Battletech videogame based off of the BT universe, this was Mechwarrior (not to be confused with the RPG Mechwarrior, which is part of the Battletech franchise)

Mechwarrior (games) became their own franchise apart from battletech, despite sharing the same universe.

Microsoft buys FASA in a hostile takeover, produces Mech 4 then sits on all intelectual material as their crap makeovers (Mechassault, Crimson skies: High road to revenge) did not sell well.

Wizkids wants to pick up the table top gaming market, and buys the rights of the boardgame Battletech, from Microsoft owned FASA

Wizkids produces the Crimson Skies and Battletech miniature games. They suck hard. Wizkids goes bankrupt.

Hasboro buys the dying WizKids and Wizards of the Coast. Still sitting on intellectual material.

Smith and Tinker purchases a lease of intelectual property from Microsoft to produce FASA material, Mechwarrior, Crimson skies, Shadowrun

S&T works with MekTek to create the Mechwarrior Free Release: Coming some time before Armageddon

MW:LL comes up independently, rocks hard.

S&T shows video of Mechwarrior: Reboot, a true to cannon re imagining of early Battletech

Harmony gold still pissed about Fig1. (below) that happened in the early 80's Claims warhammer not a battlemech, despite now being 20% different from the blatant knockoff it used to be."

I said it before and I'll say it again.

    This one > http://www.hbo.com/game-of-thrones/index.html#

But seeing how the story unfolds I just don't see how it can be made into an mmo.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

I don't know if this has been mentioned during this long thread, and if it is, I apologize; but I have always wanted to see an MMO based upon Babylon 5.  Set during the lead-up to the Shadow War, with playable races such as Human, Membari, Narn, Centauri, etc.  Each specie could have their starter home planet, with the tutorial ending with the character arriving on transport to the station itself.  But, as Sheldon would say on Big Bang Theory, "Babylon 5 isn't even realy sci-fi."  I disagree with that, but it's still funny.

Ive always wondered how Runescape will be in a state of the art tripple A mmo.

Runescape had a lot of things nicely done

Advanced Dungeons and Dragons as an MMORPG in the Dragonlance universe.

There would be two playable factions, like WoW. I like World of Warcraft but in a Dragonlance setting would be the bees-knees.

    Faction 1 - Paladine (God)

    Races:

    Human

    Wood Elf

    High Elf

    Half Elf

    Dwarf

    Kender

    Gnome

    faction 2 - Takhisis (Goddess)

    Races:

    Human

    Ogre

    Dark Elf

    Draconian

    Hobgoblin

    Goblin / Orc

    Half Orc

PVP and PVE realms and PVP only zones but in the world of Krynn and with some rules changes, especially in regards to the three moons and how they govern magic use, i.e. white robe = fireballs (Invocation / Evocation) and protective magic, slower to level but very powerful at end game. Red robe = Invocation and demonology and necromancy mixes, levels slightly faster than a white robe with xp, black robes = Invocation, demonology and necromancy and other harmful spheres of magic, fastest mage class to level with xp but not as powerful as a white robe at end game but only slightly weaker in number of spells able to cast before resting (if that system is used).

I'd like to see a Terminator MMO, based in post Judgement Day.. Open world pvp, similar gameplay to Planet Side with bases to capture and vehicles.

Oh, forgot space opera, how about a Traveller game? Or something akin, maybe not a system where your toon can die before you finish rolling it...
