UPDATE:
Exciting news, quoted from the APB Patch notes:
"=== 22/10/2010 ===
It's looking like there might be light at the end of the tunnel for APB. The end of the administration process is apparently close and there appears to be a buyer for the game."

!!! implement a good hack-protection & off we go (hopefully with a better future)

Nice - I do not like APB at all simply because there is nothing to do but with some new features it can be a great game.
But wil players tollerate a ressurection? WIth so many titles on the market, all the bad press, I wager many will be very skittish about spending any money or time on a game that already fell
Torrential: DAOC (Pendragon)
Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
Wonder if they will just buy up all the assets or if they will actually relaunch the game. Personally unless they change the business model or add a lot of features I don't see a relaunch being successful.
Steam: Neph
Exactly, unless they fix their security issues and change the business model, I won't be falling for it a second time.
haha and actual content. And varied gameplay. And a whole new game might fix the problems with this game. The only upside is it has pretty graphics.
Launch game with cheat protection.
Three types of servers, social, skill and regular.
Publish a game roadmap of short, intermediate and long term goals with dates.
Change subscription to monthly, offer concurrent users social item perks.
Need a draw, a gimmick that will get people interested after the bad press. Maybe Zombies. Maybe it's the skill server. Maybe its a new district or expanding on the social district idea with player housing. Maybe it's some kind of collection/crafting gameplay.
Old news, there's already been a couple threads about this.
Oh wait, its MMORPG.com's forums. Duplicate threads are the norm here
Well while it may be old news it was new to me so thank you OP it's nice to think this game may be revived. Wonder if it was Epic Games that bought it oO.
If it gets fixed up and relaunched i might give it a go, if it's sub free. I have better multiplayer games on my steam list tbh so they'd need to make a lot of improvements.
Liek we said in beta, they need a anti cheat/hack system in place and a good one, they need better match making, they should add some PVE...
They also need more than 3 areas I remember RTW said at release they had 9, as u seen it was a lie, unless they planned on launching slowly, never know it could of been made and sitting around for future patches...Some games do this and add adjust stuff as the game moves on..
Stuff like that needs to be changed, they need to listen to beta testers, they need to toss the game in a beta and listen to the community, the game was suppose to be skilled base and it wasn't even close.. I played it since early alpa, CB, was not even close to what the game should of been.
The game can be great if this do it right, if I had the money I would buy it and do it like it should be doesn't take much to make the game right but RTW was a bunch of idiots period.. Never seen them ever talk to beta testers...
