I need a cellphone app to notify me the moment one of them breaks up with a guy so I can jump on it before they get with the next schmuck.
There's money to be made here. Then again since it's the age of Facebook with their status updates you might as well just get an App that tells you when their status goes from "in a relationship" to "single". Throw in some handy dandy filtering tools to narrow down your search and TADA!
The /fetal_position made me fall out of my chair though. High five!
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
There's a reason why my wife and sister always play male characters when they play MMOs.
Heh, When I used to play ffxi many years ago, I'd play regularly with this male hume toon, I thought it was a guy, it was normal, didn't think anything of it. Then one day I was randomly browsing ffxiplayerspic website or something like a facebook for the game, before facebook came out... anyways the character name stood out to me and the picture was of this really hot chic and it said: "ha, and you thought I was a guy"... This blew my mind , and I was like wait wut wtf...? I knew she was hot but it still didn't make me log in and stalk her... I just kept playing and enjoyed the regular company knowing she was a really hot chic in real life.... or was she? I'll never know... yeah this thread is pretty damn creepy. Maybe she really knew I was a guy because I was playing a mithra toon (female cat race)...?!!? haha
I'm pretty sure that my sister-in-law plays MMOs to hook up with guys. She's gone out with 4 guys from WoW so far. She might still be with her WoW BF 400 miles away from her home atm.
I used to play as a female character in EQ adventures. There was a person that I grouped with often that seemed a little obsessed with me...they also had a female character. They claimed to be female and told me all about their life and I just kept all information about myself a secret. She thought I was a chick and wanted to call me and hang out etc etc.
More evidence suggested that she was a female than not..so I guess she was a lesbian looking for love on EQ.
My brother met a girl in the original EQ that he played with for years. They kept in contact and a few years ago she flew to the US from Australia to visit and stayed with him. Few years later they met up again but everything fell apart when they realised that they were strangers even though they talked to each other everyday. She was a good catch too
It is funny how attached you can feel to a person after gaming with them for years when it started out being strangers who shared the same gaming experience. There are several really cool people that I will always remember but have never seen what they look like. I've never considered hooking up with somebody in a game . .. lol I log on to play and treat everyone the same just like I do in real life.
My youngest sibling (26?) is really good at playing video games. She beats me all of the time and is better than me often. She has never played an MMO but that would be awesome if she did. My other sister plays MMORPGs with me sometimes but she is not nearly as familiar with gaming as the other one so doesn't ever beat me at them but has spent many hours playing the same games as me with headphones on and getting into them. Both are attractive and single usually. I could see either one playing MMOs and being honest about their status. I doubt they would ever play a male character either.
I got my GF to start gaming. When she first met me she hated that I played video games and told me that she has always hated consoles too. Luckily her dad happen to play WoW and when she told him about me he was able to talk her into playing it with him. She was having fun and bonding with her father. Pretty soon after that I started showing her how I play and what I am doing in the game. One day, I talked her into doing Random Arena in Guildwars and synche. I had already logged into her account and made sure everything was ready for her with an easy to play build that works while I healed. She started to have a lot of fun and continued to play along with her dad on the side. When Darkfall came out I was very frustrated with it at first and the game has a tendency to make a person angry . .. and she asked me why I would play a game that will piss me off at times and never wanted to try it. Later on she got tired of my only playing GW with her casually and decided to try Darkfall. I rerolled to play with her when NA server came out. Almost immediately she loved it more than the other games that we played. It helped that I setup a leet gaming keyboard/mouse for her and had her practice by playing Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory. She always got 2nd place in that game and I was very proud and I still am even after I discovered that we've been playing against bots and thought they were people . .. lol Darkfall is hard but shes loving it and seems to be doing well. She ended her WoW sub after a month of playing, tells all of her friends about DF, and plays it more than I do. She gets madder than me when she dies I think lol
Her biggest complaint that I have heard the most was, "Why aren't more girls playing?" but there have been some inappropriate tells from guy players at times just because she is female . .. shes been called fat lol and all sorts of things. Wtf?
Finding other couples to game with is pretty cool too.

What do you mean wife swap?
Well, wife swapping is when two married couples exchange spouses and have a sexual encounter -- something that I personally find emotionally* incomprehensible and disgusting. Seems like he's referring to something like that (and hence "availability of the women") or something without permission I am not sure. Heck, the exact manner sexuality relates to that statement seems a bit in question to me. Certainly there are people that cheat on their partners in MMOs, though I have to wonder why one would be interested in such people in any serious way.
*Intellectually I can comprehend it just fine.
In completely unrelated news, I've met a fair number of single women in MMOs. I did date one person I met, though I had met her years before (not that it matters, she ended up being rather crazy...but I wouldn't be so silly as to interpret that as meaning women who play MMOs are crazy in general). It's kind of a funny story. I met her on WoW, found out she was an atheist, lived in Columbus, and knit -- from that I figured out who she was.
Anyhow, I don't really understand why people make such a big deal about women in MMOs. Female games are common these days. Though, I can understand them being careful about revealing themselves given the small number of people who react terribly to that information.
