Too late for a brand new player?

Hi All,

I've been following UO on and off since launch but never taken the plunge and played.



I used to play Asherons Call back in the day and was completely hooked. But with the lack of population the world feels dead now. I tried Vanguard and that had the same problem.



WoW and all the clones out there are ok games, but I don’t think they are truly MMORPGS, the words seem small and I hate instancing... I want a large seamless world to explore.



So my questions are:



Is it still possible for a brand new playing pick up and get into UO?



Does the world still feel like a living world? Or is it dead like so many others (I don’t think that is the case for UO).

Depends, most UO shards are pretty empty these days too.

Atlantic is the exception. Make a trial account and check it out?

There are some UO freeshards around with decent population and one just has opened.

I would recomend trying so free shards, mainly cause they generaly play with older versions of UO, which i perfer.
