RoM - a special game

I have tried quite a few MMORPGs (mostly f2p) and spend considerable amount of time on some. However, RoM is the first one to make me give up on MMORPGs altogether. Ever since my account got hacked, all the gold was taken and customer support fails to compensate, I was seriously disappointed with the company. I considered quitting but in the end decided to give it another try because of I enjoy the company of my guildmates and friends.

During this time, I saw so many messages of how Frogster improved "account security" and encourages people to change their passwords. However, the number of cases where people got hacked and lost items did not decrease (actually felt like it increased). A few lucky people got their items/gold back but many never did (google it you want to see threads of unsolved cases).

A week ago, they decided to suspend everyone's account until they go to their original email of registration and ask for a password from there. Several issues came up immediately, many people's accounts were suspended hours after the predicted time that server should be up, sever down time was delayed for hours, and new passwords didn't get sent.  More important and larger problems still remain unsolved for quite a few individuals. Those who didn't have the email that they registered with need to send passport information for the retrieval of their account (I think that's going too far). Some others found their accounts have gone missing in the process. One would think that Frogster will fix the missing account problems soon but no, there seems to be little hope.

All in all, the support service is absolutely abysmal. It's not so much of an issue in the earlier levels where not much time has been committed and chance of being a target for hackers is low.

I can say that after playing to a 60/60 endgame character able to run up to RT, the time spend is definitely not worth the rewards. Endgame content is boring, unoriginal, and repetitive. To gear up is expensive in terms of diamonds. It's possible to be f2p and still be endgame (I know several including me) but bottom line is, someone has to buy the diamonds even if it's not yourself. In this respect, Frogster is greedy (still understatement). Players at endgame has to continuously upgrade/spend diamonds to keep up with the new content being released. New item shop promotions (runes recently) are ridiculously imbalanced to improve sales. So, after spending hundreds of dollars/euros to gear up, it will all become laughably worthless in a few months. As an example half a year ago a staff that would be worth 20+ million gold plus is worth so little now that people do not even consider it to be worth an advanced bind lifter (99diamonds on promotion at 15-20k gold/diamond). Do take into consideration that gold is easier to earn now than it was before.

One advice I'd give: it's a good game if you're looking to be under level 50 and just want to do some quests, craft, party with friends and try a few low level instances. If you're looking for good endgame content worth the time and/or money investment and satisfactory support that will safeguard your investments, stay away and do NOT get sucked into this game. I have yet to find one endgame person who genuinely supports Frogster and likes what they're doing with the game.
