Quick warning to anyone planning on playing this game long term, this game is peer 2 peerready yoursefl for extreme lag during anything that requires a group.
it was actually brilliant...the games population is massive and most MMOs would be lagging like mad anyway. With peer to peer all you need to do is join a guild with a bunch of members in your part of the world and play with...like minded internet connections.
Then you will never get any lag at all. Games like this make me glad I have been in the same guild for many years and never have to worry about playing a game with people I dont know.
While that may be the case for some, the reality for the vast majority (out side of Korea) is really horrible lag. I mean slide show type situations, that are really annyoing. Peer to peer works fine in a small country with one of the most advanced data infrastructures in the world (Korea). It doesn't work all that well in huge countries like NA or parts of Europe, which are still dealing with relics of the 20th century, in terms of infrastructure.
While I enjoyed the combat system, I've found that I like that in TERA more, and its not based on peer to peer.
Hmm, from what I think, the people of KR that made this game barely fixes problems on N.A there there will be lots of lag and game crashes and not being able to connect to servers.
One problem is when I try to collect my items from mailbox the game crashes literally.
I give the game a 7.5/10
4.5/ 5 Graphics. (Decent graphics not much to say about it)
0.5/ 5 Technical Problems (The worse problem of all time, this seriously needs to be fixed. Yeah like Server delays, game crashes, lag (especially in a party of 4 or more), glitched ground on certain parts, and a lot more that I can't name.)
4.5/ 5 Gameplay (Superb, is what I can tell the mechanics for it are near flawless)
4/ 5 Music (Decent music can be heard from it)
5/ 5 Voice (The voicing for each character, enemies, and bosses are astounding.)
Those are the ratings I give the game, based on my opinion.
This review is from more 3 years ago so it is not very accurate. A lot has changed since the release. Biggest change was the removal of the token system and allowing unlimited FREE play. One doesn't have to spend a dime on this game to be decent at it. They also added 4 new characters and gave second weapons to the 3 original characters. There are 7 different characters now with 13 total weapons each representing a different play style. What started out a simple game has gained a depth and complexity over the years. Added 24 man raids, PvP, Daily 8 man raids.
Here is a quick overview of the classes:
Lann: A dual wielding class that represents high DPS. Spears for offense OR Swords for defense
Fiona: A defensive tank class that uses a shield. Can use a sword for fast weak hits or a hammer for slow hard hits
Evie: The only character that uses magic. Staff can be used to heal and ranged DPS, Scythe is used close in high damage
Karok: A giant character that is a Hybrid dps and control effects through clashes. Pillar is slow but powerful while cestus is faster DPS
Kai: Classic archer character that does ranged damage. Bow is single target while crossgun weapon is more AoE focused
Vella: Hybrid melee and ranged character. Swords are used for close in melee damage. Chain blade whips are for ranged
Hurk: Large two handed sword user. High DPS that rivals Lann and surprisingly fast too.
Lynn: Coming in 2014 that uses a long bladed staff
Vindictus has been hailed as a groundbreaking new MMO with a physics-based engine that renders some pretty incredible animations. MMORPG.com's Bill Murphy has been playing Vindictus and has a lot to say about Nexon's latest MMO. Check out Bill's review and then leave us a comment.
Vindictus might very well be the most bang for your buck you’ll see all holiday season and into 2011. It’s free to download, free to play, and as long as you show signs of restraint, you’ll never have to pay a dime. Usually F2P games offer little to no production value or come off as some cheap knock off of a better game. Vindictus is neither of these things. Developed by Nexon using Valve’s Source engine, it’s easily the prettiest F2P game around and also one of the most fun. It’s not without its drawbacks however, which mainly come in the form of shallowness and repetition: two things which are sort of commonplace with the action-RPG genre. It’s a hard game to review really for this site, as Vindictus isn’t your normal MMORPG.
Not trying to be rude...but is there some kind of donation/paid review issue here? 8/10???? for an Asian anime' grinder? I humbly request mmorpg.com have a separate website that discusses only mmoRPGs...this F2P overseas nonsense has to stop...it's like a bag of candy in a grocery store. It's pretty sweet for the first few bites and then bam, you wish you had something with substance.

Speak for yourself dude. This "Asian anime grinder" kicks the crap out of most AAA Western MMOs which are nothing but instant gratification WoW clones.
Vindictus has a core vision and sticks to it as well as adhering to balanced risk vs reward and time vs effort paradigms. This an art that is completely lost on Western games which can be completed in a week. Not to mention that the action combat is absolutely fantastic. Been playing for 3 years now and loving every minute of it.

Sadly no one is ever social on this game.
AT ALL.
I've only ended up with like 5 friends but they are all higher level n stuff.
This game is great if you wanna waste time, if you like C9, Tera, Flyff, or Dragon nest this would be a great game for you.
I really don't know what to put here.
