Why is there an amazing amount of elitists in the cox forums?

This is downright sad how many people act like that in the forums, I ask questions and sure they answer with there noses in the air in a rude way and they always hide behind there keyboards claiming that everyone was being helpful, by god dont bother helping anyone if your going to be rude, the least you can do is be nice about it, if you do not want to spend your time helping people then dont its that simple but do not expect to get your cocky attitude worshiped or encouraged, that is down right pathetic.

It has been this way for years... It is all about the question having been asked farto many times and a search would prolly have showed it... Also people are just antsy these days... CoH is getting old and so are most of the community.

CoX has always had terrible Forums. Everything is fragmented and the good stuff gets outdated quickly and people don't search.
My guess is use Wiki sources or join a good SG. They'll take care of you. Seriously, don't bother using those forums, they're useless. I've been playing for 5 years and they've been a mess since beta. The game keeps going through mini reboots so all of the builds become useless in 1 patch.
Paragon wiki should be your friend
Just what happens to games forums that have been out a long time. People stop playing the game as much and go to playing the forums.
It can happen to any forum/game though, and does not have to be out long. Just the way some people think that they get power:) Being able to spout their opinions as if they have the only info that is worth listening to.:P
Lot of it goes on on all formus, just have to give it the attention that it deserves.
Every game forum has them. Heck I even give elitist answers once in awhile if I feel that someone asking a question has failed the comon sense test. But most of the time I'm pleasant.

There used to be fantastic threads that discussed things very in depth and intelligently that got lost in a forum revamp.Very sad really I used to search and I kept them printed out thank heavens because they involved very detailed tactics and answers that people took time to post and write about. Pity in the shuffle instead of keeping these legendary threads they got lost.
I think it is a great game and it would be a shame that the forum turn you away from this stellar game. Try searching a bit and sometimes these old forum goats do tend to get mad at the same old same old questions being asked. Not that it is an excuse mind you but a reason.
If you can't bother to sit down and have a look at the faq first, why should they bother to write down an answer to you.
I peek into CoX into a yearly basis and people there are very nice compared to lots of other MMOs.
The CoX community is very nice and helpful on the forums, but are not very tolerant with trolls.
This proves it right here, they are cocky there and some of you who are getting defensive about my own experience with it proves it, I played a long time ago and they where cocky then, I have no issues reading the faqs and yada yada but not everyone has the luxury of having mommy and daddy pay for there mmo and not have jobs or kids and the time to read every little faq sometimes the forums is better to get a second opinion from.
And only some are nice, allot of them have just really big egos, and like someone said ealier it happens all the time the vets stick around and share there big ego problems.
To be honest, you have an ego problem. There are plenty of resources to help you, but you choose not to navigate them. If you think the posters on City of Heroes forums (who are very friendly) are mean...don't bother posting on the WoW rogue forums as they would tear your fragile ego apart.
Interesting -- so anyone who takes an opposing view to you is cocky? Okay, not really interesting. But there is some irony in your posts, suggesting those "elitists" must have the "luxury of having mommy and daddy pay for there (sic) mmo and not have jobs or kids and the time to read every little faq". Does painting those people in such a light soothe your own ego problems? Who's being cocky and elitist, exactly?

In post 18, you start getting defensive for what seems like no reason. Then in post 46 you get a bit more defensive when people point out that you can have the deal you want if you wait 10 days (for black friday) and/or try to explain what is in the package and how they found value in the regular cost. Finally, in post 48, you just get rude. That post in between your two simply doesn't justify your escalation, in my humble opinion. And THEN you keep going back, intentionally or not, to bait them more....before coming here to post.
I read that thread on CoX, thought about posting a response a couple times after he went off the deep end, but decided it wasn't worth the effort. And yeah, I agree, he went nutts for what appeared no reason after everyone tried to help him out. He just didnt like the answer he got (guess waiting wasn't an option). Amazed he brought it here actually, kind of says alot about the thread and the poster. Didnt get satisfaction there so brought it here to slam the people there.
