Warrior vs Mage for Endgame PvE?

Hey guys, I currently have a mage sitting at 83. Now Im wondering if I should go and roll a warrior to do cata endgame raiding. I want to know which is better and will sit highest on the dps meter for most of the time.

    Are you sure, because I dont want to get to 85 on this mage then figure out im getting beaten by wars.

    All things can change with a patch. 

    Play a class you enjoy... as they say, then it doesn't matter.

    You just had two people tell you mage and hes already at 83...  So why dont you level the mage.  Also, why are you so concerned with being the top dps?  Even close to the top is great in most guilds.  More specificly, why warriors, whats wrong if a warrior  beats you every once in a while?
