Well there is a kind of difference between what someone is allowed to do and what is right to do. People that use the laws in any case for their favor since it ok, do always create a kind of dislike to me in Pen and Paper RPGs
One thing is certain, the right thing to do was to provide me with facts of FFIV saving me a ton of money in more than just my car insurance.

Hardly. There is no bigger disappointment than not being able to play the game at all, and APB is the clear winner in that category.
It definitely deserves to be a nominee though, no doubt about that.
I think people running from a "AAA" game even when it's FREE (FFXIV) is a lot more disappointing than a dead game, myself. I bet Square-Enix ( or at least their accountants) would agree.

Are you implying that this wasn't the case for APB?
Frankly, around 400k players have played this game in the West. Why is it a nominee for "Worst game everyone played"?
I think that there was more hype for this game than APB and since SE already had launched an MMO before whereas the developers for APB had not. It's not too shocking for a rookie to crash and burn in the industry but for a AAA company to do so is not promising.
You also mention that 400k players "have played" which seems to indicate that the player-base is no longer at this level. I have no idea about the game's success but has SE released any information on units sold or current subscription numbers? It is just always helpful to hear the information straight from the lion's mouth.
Yeah the announcement that APB will be coming back as a free to play has actually generated a bit of interest and hype.
The announcement that FFXIV will be free to play until they figure out what to do didn't do much for the game lol. People are still canceling and leaving even though it doesn't cost anything to play beyond the initial purchase.
Always a bit sad and a bit funny to see a game treated like it was the black plague. SE was fairly cocky about FFXIV so it's a bit funny, I liked the FF series as well as FFXI and the last thing we needed was an even worse MMO after 2 years of bad MMO's so it's a bit sad.

Wada definitely was. The team itself was always like "we hope you will like this game" m(__)m and I can't say they hyped the game.. at all. Most of it was generated by the fans.
Guess you must not have voted because FFXIV is leading by a lot in most dissapointing and by a decent amount in worst game lol.
What the winner should be and the winner is are two completely different things, lol.
well the best game of the year award there is currently Mass Effect 2... and.. yep.. most dissapointing is FFXIV.. if there is a moral here i guess its, always remember to make the game playable.. dodgy UI's are something that players arent willing to put up with, and in some cases, can be a game breaking disaster.. i wonder really how much of the games problems are also caused by them trying to make it playable on a PS3, as it appears that DCUO is also having problems with their UI.. and.. chat issues.. MMO's have long been the domain of the PC, and UI's have come a long way over the years, so is it not possible that the problem stems from a rather basic one related more to the limitations of consoles rather than devs suddenly forgetting how games on the PC look and operate? not exactly encouraging is it...

APB died not because it was a bad game but because companyw as in financial trouble even before the game released. FFXIV is where it is today because at core its a broken MMO. I find it sad that you are arguing over if APB is worst compared to FFXIV. As if being second worst is some kind of achievement?

actually..... nevermind. play out your cards i don't even care for the game anymore. to be honest i don't want to ever EVER play a game that is even considered by you to be a game. i might run past you on a server now that really would shock me. there are ppl i can play with but you're not my kind.
the game is bad. SE did not FIRE Tanaka got what he deserved. but i am pretty sure he wasn't fired from SE. he produced the ff-title that brought the most money to the company and no it's not ff7 or ffx.
i am tired of saying why i like this game and why you ppl should not bash on it. but on another perspective it seems i am total ignorant against a huge amount of disapointed gamers.
so it deserves these two awards, if the mmo market has changed in so significantly way, that little unsatisfied noobish-players have the speaking voice for every gamer out there. The lack of patience that everyone seems to have. the idiotic behaviour when the next michael bay film comes out (oh my god boom!).
to be clear though: what SE released was NOT acceptable, simple as that.
mediocre society deserves mediocre games and even more so this game. i am tired of arguing for the game or against the game. vote for it or don't mind.

I find it sad that you are defending APB. No one cares who is the second worst, but which game deserves to be "the biggest disappointment". That's what this damn poll on gamespot is all about.
Good job generalising there. You think its only noobish players who know nothing about MMO genre voting here? and you are coontradicting yourself here. You say you don't care for the game and yet go on a rant and bash everyone who dislike it? and if you really that angry why not throw stones at Gamespot office because they are the one who nominated it for this award? let me guess Gamespot are noobish too, corrupt and paid off to give it low ratings...am i right?
You are right about one thing though, i have read some really ridiculous stuff on these boards but you take the cake.

One game dies because company got in to finanical trouble even befor game is released and never got a chance to flourish. Another game released by an experinced MMO developer with 7 year of MMO experince behind them goes F2P and loses more then half of its population within 60 days to top it has its dev team replaced and Tanaka removed from project.
Easy choice there. I guess selling lots of boxes mean nothing haan when no one is staying to play?
