This is just a speculation article here, even though the title of the article suggests an official announcement of FACT.
I guess that's ONE way to insure that people read your stuff.....masquerade it as something it's actually not.
No offense, OP, but I don't think you should be allowed to title something as FACT when it's not, regardless of what board it's posted on.
I agree.
This happens a lot here.
I'm very excited about the mesmer profession and I'm sure that it will be there. I just don't need someone claiming facts and sending misleading post titles. Very lame and actually pretty insecure.
Wouldn't the title then be: GW2: Fifth Profession Released/Announced: Introducing The Mesmer? etc. Agree there is some ambiguity, but you can't please everyone especially on the internet with a patience threshold so low... no much longer in anycase.
Getting rid of hexes is just a game mechanic. They can pretty much give a GW2 mesmer the same abilities as in the original but they will just be classified as a condition. I don't see this inhibiting the development of a mesmer at all.
True they did the same thing with the necromancer. Im sure that instead of degend you could have bleed and other conditions as well. Although having abilities like empathy or Backfire would be hard to do without hexes. And not having hexes is a big diff. Mesmer is a class that is soly based off of hexes energy managment and interupts. Which all 3 of these are not going to happen in gw2. Hexes are out, some can be replaced with conditions but that is only the degen ones as well as the ones that already apply condition. Energy managment is out like i stated earlier due to huge mana pool and mana potions. And the casting bar is gone as well so interupts are more then likely gone as well. With the mesmer and most likely the ranger as well.
It definitely looks like Mesmer..but I thought that I read somewhere that the last four professions weren't going to be something we saw in GW? Oh well, maybe I'm getting myself confused with something else I read. Mesmer is a really cool profession and it would be good to see it again in GW2
From an ArenaNet tweet : “Remaining four professions: at least one is a returning profession, at least one is similar with a different name, and at least one is new.”
Thanks for the clear up! I haven't been checking my twitter account so I missed that !

My all time favourite stylish GW class .. I have fond memories of clearing FoW and UW with just a team of mesmers and having mesmer-only events, I really hope they will be in GW2!!
