shame that most people on mmorpg.com who aren't interested in rift and not played in the beta would vote no anyways, can never get an honest poll on this forum.

Did not play in the beta and I do not intend to play Rift.
Rift is just not the type of game I am looking for.

It'snot a question of whether I'll buy and sub, but a question of whether it will sustain my attention. It just might be transient for me, so the poll is a bit flawed. There are other games coming out, Earthrise, GW2, Tera, SWTOR. Now Earthrise, if it is a more organic player-centric game like EVE, that is where I'll be. So, yet to be seen until I've tried others.
Ehh ? yeah it is no TERA ofcourse.
Who could have thought that WOW could bring super power like USA to its knees?

Im picking on WoW btw because its the beast that made all of this possible
No, it's not good enough. It's not an AAA title, it's a B title.
Good F2P game yup, P2P? fuck no, way too expensive.
Collector's editions are scams.
Yes - Having loads of fun so far, looking forward to trying the warfronts next beta! The one thing im on the edge about is the framerate, which for me runs pretty low in large scale battles >/
I think they can do well with a subscription, i dont know if it will actually work out but it can be good.
Im definitely not going to play it, it feels way too much like a WoW sequel to me (not clone, sequel). And its like a sequel that only added an extra 30 minutes to the movie.
It is a beautiful game tho, and the rifts themselves are amazing in my opinion. I went out of my way to chase the rifts down thats how fun they are.
It would definitely be in my top played if it was free to play.

Haven't played beta so I can't really comment much. But it seems from screenshots, video, and people's beta reactions to be a AA title, not a AAA title. Definitely a fun game but probably not worth $14 a month. I would definitely try it out if it was F2P
Why do you love to hate?
This is not a game.
I have played what Rift has to offer in many other games that came before it.
Shall you flame me because I crave for something different than the norm ?

First of all there was no flame and it was very honest opinion. Rift is not Tera and as far as different from norm, i don't want to go offtopic here but TERA is not all that different, it is just merely refining on the features that already exists in other MMORPGS.

was in beta , voted no. seems like a fine game but I'm looking for something like AOC....... I hope Tera is decent. I would prob play Aion befor this.

Didn't play beta and I don't know if I will get this game....maybe after 6 months to a year if it is still getting mostly good reviews.
Currently Playing: FFXIV:ARR
Looking Forward to: Wildstar
My opinion of the game has changed radically, after the first beta I was disappointed, the 2nd beta had a better dynamic going on with more invasions and rifts but the rest of the game play bored me, the third beta however has so far been a hell of a lot of fun, tonnes of rifts and invasions creating lots of random group fun. The decision to allow earlier access to souls and points means creating a build is interesting now so outside the usual MMO mechanics employed by this and so many other games it has it's fun factor, I have doubts about the longevity which can only be swayed as we see further on but I'm only posting here now because there's a small server down time for an update, it's pushing the right buttons for me atm.
If you haven't played this beta you're judging it without seeing its potential.
I second this motion.

answered no for the simple reason the art style is not to my taste it certainly isn't next-gen as what hyped to be but from my time with it seemed a solid fun MMO that will get its own loyal following.
It's funny how 15 bux a month is considered too pricey.
I spend 20 bux on a single meal at decent restaurant.
I spend 40-50 bux going out on friday or sat.
6 dollar min now a days for a movie.
7 bux for a book.
People spend tons on alcohol and cig's. I bet at least 30% smoke weed.
Of all those things, and granted it depends on just how much you play, 15 bux a month for Rift is no where as expensive per hour as any of those other forms of entertainment.
I have been in all 3 betas and Rift is almost exactly what I am lookin for. Would like better crafting, but oh well. I will be pre-ordering the CE in a few days
I'll still sub as long as I'm not playing GW2 or SW:ToR when this game comes out.
Are'nt you contradicting yourself there? You say it will to well, although you probably have no idea about the demographic research needed to determine this fact, then later go on to say you wont play unless it was F2P? Also how can it be a sequal? There are no Night Elves, Tauren, Worgen, etc. Its a Clone, plain and simple, I'd give you the sequal part if it resembled directly to WoW, it doesnt though. Art is differnt, Progression is different, and the company making it is different. Unless of course you think since it was made in northern California, and Blizzard is in Southern California and that makes it seem like a sequel, if thats the case then there are much more important things you should be thinking about. Will I play it? No, not because its P2P or F2P, because it doesnt offer the level of PvP combat/reward I am personally looking for.
For those curious about the level of PvP combat/reward that I am looking for is akin to such titles at Ultima Online, Shadowbane(now extinct), Asherons Call (Darktide), Mortal Online, Darkfall Online, and even though I dont like space MMO's EVE aswell.
On a closing note the Rift mechainic is not all that impressive. The RIfts do not open at random spots, these spots are static. If they truly were a random occurence then we would have something IMO to write home about.
is should be out loooong before those two

Same here, and I've talked to quite a few others who feel this way as well. It's a fun game, with some great features that should be able to entertain me for several months while waiting for something truly revolutionary to come along.
I've been in 2(or 3? can't remember, and that says something right there to me) of the beta events. I have this strong feeling I want to like this game, but I just can't get any excitement up for it. The classes that I've played don't seem to have much to distinguish them. The trees don't do it, they seem (at least at the lower levels, maybe it would be different at higher, no idea) to make a big difference between "builds", very small point differences, small percentage differences. I don't know it just isn't interesting me. The graphics are very nice! I mostly like the appearance of it. Wouldn't mind more options to distinguish characters visually at character creation. Maybe after it's been out a few months to a year it'll mature, and change enough I'd become interested.
TBH I voted No not coz I hate the game ,i think it's fine and does what it does well, but I am leaning more toward DCUO right now.But Honestly either game is only gonna tide me over till SW:TOR and/or GW2 grabs my attention depending on how they actually turn out.
