46 in Calculus in High school, but I got a B still. I quit mmorpgs after college started. Life is so much better now(99 in Calculus at the university LOL). The mmorpg was Star Wars Galaxies, I also played other mmorpgs but I didn't spend as much time as SWG.
There's a kid playing WoW next door and he skips class every single day because he's on vent nerd raging. His mom came right before this winter break and yelled at him cuz his room stinks. Everybody on the floor heard it. He is probably dropping college.
Studying 1 day before a test worked through High school(graduated with Honors ROFL) and first year in college. Now I can't even keep up if i start 1 week before a test(Science major). Life does get nasty, but I still feel it's better than before.
Everquest, the original and only. Pre-Kunark. I was in college... I missed so many classes stupidly glued to my shaman that I ended up ditching up an entire class or two for a semester because I couldn't make up for lost time without cutting unreasonably into my playtime
Really stupid in retrospect. Thankfully, I've wisened up in the following decade. Damn, time flies.
i have not failed at anything due to MMOs but i have suffered the consequences
ive pulled all nighters before an exam on MMOs and it was painfull as hell, my soul hurst so bad since after the exam i had to go work and then sports.
i have never missed anything or failed anything (i actually made it into med school) but i did suffer for my actions and like everything in life you have to live with the consequences of your actions, and i must be a masochist because i still do it... pull all nighters (sometimes 2) before going to school/work
I have found over the years, that as long as I listen in classes I was able to pass the final with relative ease. Now I have walked into a midterm I didn't know about because sleep deprevation from EQ had made me sleep through the class when we were told when our midterm was. I walked in and everyone was like, where is your blue book. I went why? Then I had to wing the test, but I still passed it with a B.
i didnt fail the exam exactly but when i was due to take pathology technician exam 2 days before i took a fit cos of too much gaming.i ended up in plaster top to bottom so didnt make the exam, i suppose you can put that down as a fail
MMOs never influenced me to that point. Never have I suffered bad grades in school or had a hard time at work because I stayed up long hours to game.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
Never had this problem. I was quite serious about my future and never slacked in studies.
Who could have thought that WOW could bring super power like USA to its knees?

Im picking on WoW btw because its the beast that made all of this possible
I dropped out of school in the 9th grade to play EQ in 1999, i didn't go back to school until 2007.
Do i win?
(i've got a BA from CSUB now, funny how easy college was with just common sense and a strong reading comprehension which i picked up from playing RPG's ha!)
if you cant control yourself to know when you need to turn off a game, or it impacts your real life in a negative way, then you should just unplug yourself now from your computer/console and not touch it until you can handle managing your hobbies with your responsibiities.

This, Everquest 1999-2004. (wake up play, eat, play, sleep, rinse repeat 5x a week)
Stupidest thing I've ever done /shrug, Cannot recommend that at all.
Nowaydays still MMO-addicted but in a good way, them taking a back seat to RL :P

None, since when I was getting an education I learnt the subjects as I was taught tin the class room. When it came to time for the exam I simply recalled what I learnt since I don't forget. I don't need to revise a subject once I was taught it back in the school and high school days, as it's so basic and straight forward learning and remembering. Only Uni and doing masters did I need a quick go over as the subject matter was far more mature and complex and your exam results needed to reflect the same standard.
Diablo 2 pretty much screwed up my education when i was younger, followed up by DAOC.. an urge to be the best in those games diddent leave much time for what really mattered..
But after more years that i care count back, im back on track.
I totally blame my first mmo lineage 2 on a bad grades in my first semester of University. Man was that game a time sink and I had no idea what I had stumbled into.
I quit lineage 2 shortly after I got those marks lol. I haven't played a "hardcore" mmo since for those exact reasons and also the reason why games being casual friendly are important.
I've never failed an exam. Ever. Not a single time.
I sleep through most of my classes and rarely attend.
The closest I've ever came, is I was so relaxed one semester I forgot the entire 16 weeks I had a 4 credit hour online advanced science class.
I didn't do any homework and found out I had a final test in a few days.
I didn't study.
3 hours before the test, I skimmed through a 864 page textbook on a subject I knew nothing about.
I not only passed, but I was 3 points off of making a B on the test. I made a D+ in the class.
This was at OU too, and it wasn't an easy class at all. The average grade for the course was...a D, lol.
It amazes me how the tests are so easy at prestigious colleges that people can not read an 800 page textbook and never attend class, and still manage to pass the class and score high on the test.
For someone who didn't even know he had the class, I think I did pretty well.
If being a developer means being quiet, mature, well-spoken, and disconnected from the community, then by all means do me a favor and believe I'm not one.
I mentioned that bc at the time, I always enjoyed staying home from school and playing Dark Age of Camelot all day, not realizing that 8am turned into 4am and I only got 8000 realm points >_<
I only quite bc in some MMORPG's, you dont actually get to play the game. You spend 4 hours waiting to play, and then 10 minutes actually playing. That's when I learned those 10 minutes of amazing fun were not worth the 4 hours of boring walking around dying.

Not at all, I usually stop playing MMOs and switch to my PS3 during school time and go back when I have some free time again.
I usually just study hard the day before and come out fine the next day.

None- priorities. Although on days I only have work I've pulled some all nighters.
Dial up wasn't even popular yet when I went to college so I can't blame MMOs for my bad grades More like beer and CPT Morgans spiced rum.

i blame myself for dropping out of university because of lack of interest and aoc ... there you have it, im not proud
I failed an exam in university because I was playing warcraft 2 24/7 for a while but no MMO.

I had a C for one six week period in 8th grade US History because I played Everquest too much.
