How long do you think it will take if at all for SOE to announce their "monthly" content updates so we can set when we're going to get wht show have been in the inital release?

I'm one of those butt hurt players that complained they didnt have the power sets in that i wanted (Hard-Light, Might) and that's why i'm not playing.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Hard-Light will probably be an expansion you have to pay for or it would not suprise me if it showed up on the item store for $25 bucks....

I wouldnt be surprised to see at least one new big piece of event content every month.

Just from listening to the devs and reading between the lines, I get the feeling that the first couple of month's additional content may already be complete. At some point, a monthly release schedule will catch up to them and they will fall behind. At that point, the community will cry foul, so it is in their best interest to have content stored up ready for release.

I kind of see this as the big challenge for SOE, and a demonstration of how well it has learned from the past.  Yet again they have locked themselves into an established IP, which itself is a challenge,  but they've managed to construct a new setting for it (much like EA has done with SW:TOR) -- this can turn some people off.  Trickier though is that, much like the Matrix Online (which they took over) and Star Wars Galaxies (the crux of which was the evolving galactic civil war), there is an absolute need to provide a sense of narrative progression to keep people invested in the game given how otherwise shallow it is.
