Whilst sounding a troll title it isn't i assure you.
One resounding thing I have seen throughout the discussion on RIFT has been the well wishing for the game and the lack of numbers of the usual haters beating it down like a rabid dog attacking your child. Not saying they arent there but it seems for the most part to be the same trolls regurgatating the same thing time and again.
I myself am one of those people who wishes Trion well, I don't like RIFT's art style so will not be playing however I am intrested in Trions other project "One Earth" so I hope it does well.
Just what is it that makes others wish Trion well with it, is it because they have been fairly open during development, have listened to the players, are actually aiming for a polished bug free release after years of underwhelming launches.
Just what is it that is making you hope RIFT does well yet not going to play it yourself.

By adding "I wish Trion well, and glad you fans found yourself a game" the post sounds less trollish and that will hopefully help them get less flamed and taken more seriously . That's not to say the negative posts are trollish but it is a form of damage control.
Basically they delivered a polished product, only thing left to say is if you like it or not.
This gives good hope for their next mmo being of same or even better quality on release.
Edit:
And since this is their first venture into MMO's this says a lot imho. So for the next one they take experience of Rift with them.
Trion is awesome. I mean just completely awesome. The feedback they give. The changes they've made to the game that proves they are listening to their beta testers. Their stance on making sure EVERYONE who pre-ordered got a beta invite last weekend when Amazon and Gamestop failed to do their part. I am more of a fan of them than the game. My confidence in their ability to manage a game well is absolute.
awesome.
Trion is good because the competition is in general bad. Trion is not doing something exceptional they are simply doing how a company should be!
Trion has some MMO vets on their team, which makes them sort of special. Also, the response to feedback and criticism and their dedication for releasing a working title that has the potential to grow makes them special. They seem very serious about competing with the big guys and offering quality content.
I haven't played such an open and productive beta ever. I certainly think they are out there to make a quality game. Even if they fail, at least I know it will not be for lack of trying or concern. They want my dollar and they want to earn it as well. I guess that is what makes them special. Their customer service line was nice too.

OP what kind of art style do you like and what aspects of this games art style don't you like?
I don't like the game, neither do I like how similar it plays to WoW (my SOLE opinion). BUT I WOULD STILL LIKE RIFT TO DO WELL.

Its just to try and hide the fact that they are trolling.
I'm a odd one.
Vanguard playable, EQ2 playable, SWG playable, Aion playable (not usually a asian fan but liked Aion art) AOC playable, GW playable.
Of those SWG was probably my favourite I am a Star Wars geek though so the whole setting lends to the art, there was aspects of Conan I didnt like also such as the female faces and the GIANT hands but for the most part liked the art style.
I can't play WOW, Lotro, WAR, RIFT
Lotro its the animations WOW/War its the art style RIFT was kind of a combination of both.
I guess I just like my humanoid character to look well human and not styilised cartoon (although oddly really like TOR's art style) for the record i hated anyone who made a freak character in Aion and would add them to my ignore list.
They are incredibly responsive in Beta. They don't seem to take negative feedback personally. They have good senses of humor, as is evident in their many server wide messages. Unlike some betas I've been in, they actually give you 5 minute incremental warnings before taking a server down for a patch or restart. I've seen them make large changes to the game from our feedback, something I never experienced with Cryptic, SOE, Mythic or Funcom. These guys seem to be genuinely interested in making a game fun in order to make a profit and not the typical profit hounds who use gimmicks to drain money from patrons and label it as fun.
Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
i've been playing mmorpgs since 1997.
I can count the amount of games that released polished and just "worked" on one hand.
If rift released today baring a complete flop of its endgame it would get a place on that one hand along with a couple others.
Playing: Rift, LotRO
Waiting on: GW2, BP
Trion reminds me a little bit of Avatar Creations, the guys behind Perpetuum. Both companies had a pretty clear picture of what they were delivering. What they delivered largely matched or exceeded what they advertised. Both companies delivered complete games that were/are ready for expansions without having to spend a bunch of time fixing things. Both companies have GMs and Devs that are responsive to their player base. The difference is that Trion did actually hype their game up.
I'll probably be playing Rift, but I probably won't be playing Perpetuum. Regardless, I think both companies will do well and I look forward to any projects they come out with in the future.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
